These are the Forgestar disposable track rims! They're meant to self destruct after 5 uses. This guy went over on his allotted times.:D:p

Am I the only one that finds the whole think a little fishy? Who has a wheel separate at speed from the hub, nearly wreck their car, and the first thing they do is turn to a camera and say "And that's the problem with Forgestars?"

A guy who spends half his wheel budget on a suite of GoPros, so his girlish squeals can be captured from many angles.

I've seen a set of FN01RC's fail on the track and OEM wheels fail as well, that being said I won't track my car without a proven set of wheels for this reason. That S2K owner got very lucky going off the way he did.

I have seen Forgelines fail in a similar fashion. A one off experience doesn't mean anything imo.

Well, instead of bashing him what about the wheels. They shouldn't be this easy to damage. Not for $500 a piece wheels.

4000 miles of pot holes, bad pavement, 150+MPH etc on quality MPSS tires...no issues. One pot hole I didn't see until too late got my driver side rear tire. Inspected the rim thoroughly...no sign of damage at all.

I'd buy my Forgestars again for sure.

Well you can clearly see the wheels in question had lateral load beyond it could handle and definitely experienced metal fatigue.
Potholes don't bend the spokes much.

Looks like its just the f14's.:shrug:
I know but this caught my eye.

I've done about 10 minutes of research on this and it seems the only reported cases are on the thinner spoked f14's. Most are older threads, seems one of the only recent failures i've seen in that short bit of research online. Nothing on the first couple pages of google for cf5's or cf5v's

I think a better point to bring up is to inspect your gear before you track it. I would not have really thought to inspect the spokes specifically, or as closely so thanks for shedding a bit of light on an important component
I know you got skinny spokes and your car is going to be a dedicated track monster. Figured I'd give you the heads up!

Loved the side shot seeing the front tire just roll away from ya :)

Shit happens when you party naked, or track your car too hard, or something... I dont know. Going to look more into wheels when the time comes though.
