Simple way is buy the correct torque stick from the snap-on guy or other places and then feel free to use your impact. Problem solved.

I also see I'm also very late to this conversation. Just 2 cents from a lifelong mechanic.:cheers:

What I've seen with folks that do not use a torque wrench is they end up over-tightening more than under-tightening.

In the case of wheel studs they end up breaking them more frequently due to the over-tightening.
That clearly is some one that does not know how to use the tool. plain and simple.

Another point working with aluminum, folks better get very friendly with the torque wrench.
