340 to the wheels ain't too shabby, if that's the case.
Exactly, even better if its just a tune. But i wouldn't want to negate all the other necessary bolt ons (CAI, exhaust, intercooler, etc)

X2. Maybe this is their "Stage 2" kit, which is tune + bolt-ons?

I am not real familiar with how Ford Racing rates HP and T on their bolt on parts but this is not the way advertised engine HP and T is tested at Ford.

Would you mind elaborating on how they test? I am sure they also use dynos to see changes. Or are you referring to showing the power at the wheels instead of at the crank.

This is a photo of a chassis dyno which is usually used for powertrain calibration development. The HP and T numbers come from the SAE procedure using an engine dyno.

Yes, that is true, I guess you were just trying to state that it was not Ford, but Ford Performance doing the testing, because of course normal development is done with an engine only setup to determine what the motor makes before driveline losses. Thanks for pointing that out.

post #1 for me! been reading the forums for over a year with no reason to register. A ford fanatic but i had to get what i could af-ford. What i find interesting is how smooth the Dyno graph is, with no 5500 rpm drop. looks like a v6 or v8 pull. but the way the torque is looks like the typical ecoboost pull torque peaks early then has a decline line. If this is the Ecoboost I am impressed!

+1 was looking at the dyno myself.

In the picture with the dyno graph you can see its still running on the stock intake. If this is indeed "tune only" and its putting down 340hp and 385tq to the wheels, then its by far the best "tune only" so far. MAP performance P1 does intake, down pipe and catback, plus custom tune, and its running 10hp under this to the wheels.... Maybe ford racing can tap into things a little better.

That would be awesome but I would still get a FMIC
Oh ya, I will still do full bolts ons, just saying if this tune is already beating full bolt on tunes, with it just stock, then imagine ford racing tuning it with full bolt ons.

Its almost too good to be true. We will see soon enough. I've been holding out for a while to see what they were gonna offer.

Also, does anyone know if Ford Racings hand held tuner does on the fly map switching like COBBS? I know its not out yet, but for the focus STs do they have that capability?

I can hold out a few more months to see what materializes. I haven't been in a huge hurry. On a new platform I like to wait a bit to 1.) See what everyone will offer, 2.) Let all of the kinks from v1s (tune or bolt-ons) be worked out.

It flashes the car and that's about it.

Just got this answer from Watson racing about the picture posted a little while ago:

Hi Eric!

No problem at all! Thanks for sending the pictures… although it looks white in the ‘brightened’ photo, I do in fact think it is the same silver Ecoboost Mustang. We have not had a white Ecoboost here. I don’t recall what the final dyno numbers were for that car, but I know it was really, really impressive for only having a stock intake, off-road exhaust, and calibration.

Hope this helps,
