Because it’s breathing easier I’m assuming. I have both can put both out for comparison. The kn had tighter pleats, more of them, bugs etc was smooshed into the crevices such a pain to clean.
the afe has larger grooves, less pleats, but you can clean the grooves easier. My car instantly felt better, and I hear the intake so much more sooooking. I keep kn as I will use it during the cleaning of afe
You should try the Cobb drop in. That was my favorite out of the K&N, AFE, and Airaid.

That is correct! The Ford tune allows you to change rear gears without a warranty voiding tune!
I'll have to ask them about that. I want the 4.09 but i dont wanna have to use a tune. i dont have any oother mods that would justify it.

The 'tune' doesn't have to be changed - it's the max gear ratio setting inside the tune. It can be done with HPTuners device and software (you need 4 credits for 18+ GT). Hit up Steeda. They could send you a tune file with no changes for fueling / timing, just the changes for the gear ratio.

Local tuner quoted me $150 + the HP Tuner credits to change the gear ratio setting on my '19 GT.

yeah but that would still void my warranty.

I have the Ford performance tune in my 19gt, and it woke it up. Also put 4.09s in and that really woke it up. And all under warranty!
How much did the 4.09 swap cost you with labor?

I don't want to get into a long drawn out discussion - but changing the max gear ratio in your factory tune - if that somehow ended up voiding your warranty, I would be shocked.

This is not going to be a fair example. I'm a retired master auto tech, so the labor was on me. Gears were $249, install kit was $140 labor $200 to a buddy that owns a shop who let me use his lift and equipment and helped also.

Gotcha, saw on a review someone said around $1100 so I suspect that’s accurate. Just looking to have an idea for getting a quote. Would you say it’s well worth it if I’m doing doing any other mods besides the FP tune on a 20 GT convertible?

Did the 4.09 affect your mileage much?

If your running a 6spd, then yes if an auto 4.09s would be steep for the street.
