I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer for me about the Ford Performance and Roush Superchargers.

Is there any information out there that Ford is going too and or intends to offer the 727 HP, or phase 2 (if you will) version of their SC ???

Has Roush resolved their tune issues that I've been reading about on this forum, in particular with thier phase 2 tune ???

My understanding is that if you're doing your own install, Roush still requires that you send them the PCM for flashing the new tune...

But...

Ford Performance includes the ProCal adapter for use with a laptop and voucher to obtain the new tune which you upload yourself. The same as with their new Power Pack CAI kits ???

If so...is the stock tune saved to your laptop or the Ford Performance server ???

FRPP does not intend to. First, FRPP only offers 50-state legal SC systems for the S550 and the 727HP is not 50-state legal, it is 0 state legal.

Roush has not resolved there issues. They still have massively varying HP, limp mode and many other issues. Some work perfect and some don't. If you have an auto, the trans settings are nearly stock which can be problematic. The adaptives will help it and it will get by.

For Roush, you need to send the PCM in or have a pass through device to update the cal in the PCM. FRPP comes with a Pro Cal tool/voucher which is PC based, this saves your stock file which is a nice feature.

Why do you think that is? Wouldn't it be the same exact tune for every vehicle upgrading to the Phase 2? It makes no sense to me.

We ran into these same issues in original development, we corrected a lot of things, wrote new software to isolate issues and calibrate around some variances we saw.

Prior to having the Phase 1 blower installed on my car, I read the entire install instructions from FR/Roush. The one thing that stuck-out with me was the modification of the knock sensor wiring. I appears fairly straightforward but I wondered if that was a possible area where if anything was out of spec, it could cause an issue. My guess is if there is any fault in knock sensor system, it would default to retarding timing/power.
Am I completely off base or could the knock sensors be the reason some blower installs don't put the expected power to the wheels?
