For those wanting a PP dash....

How do headers, which for the Eco don't exist yet, make the car go around a track faster? Corner entrance (braking) and corner exit are much more important. I was blowing s197 Saleens off Barber by over 2 sec a lap with better brakes and the independent rear, which gave me much quicker corner exit. Sure I could spend $2000 on a new down pipe and cat-back exhaust install, but then I'd have to get into the ECU to get the most out of it.

Boostmax and Pedalmax will help you Coyote guys out as well.

No such thing as headers on a turbo vehicle, unless they use remote turbos like some vettes.

That said, you're much better off investing in aftermarket suspension rather than the PP stuff. The brakes can be found, but will run 1k+. Radiator and braces will run you close to 1k as well. At the end of the day, 2500 is a hell of a deal.

I suppose hindsight it would have been the thing to do. It was only $2000 for the Eco, but then I'd have to buy a set of winter wheels/tires, which would have made my cost more like $3500. In the end, I'll end up with better springs and sway bars than the Ford Racing stuff, and a slightly less efficient rad, but engine temps at Barber were never an issue on a hot day. My car was already up to $37.5, and just didn't see spending $40k on a four cylinder Mustang!!!!

I was referring to the 1.5k for just the dash and guages...But yeah things add up.

Your absolutely right there. It was an aesthetics thing for me. My favorite part of the PP was the dash gauges. Not worth $1500 for sure. A new cat-back would be a much better spend there I agree totally.

I got the GT brakes (Eco PP brakes) on evilbay for $400. They pop up from time to time. Even saw a set of the 15" Brembo's for $800, but the 14's seem to be more than I need on the track.

Not sure I really need the rad. A trans cooler for POS auto? Sure. Steeda sells their spring/swaybar kit for something like $700 and we get a discount here of I believe 10%. I'm sure the Steeda guys will correct me if I'm wrong, but they sent me a discount code of "loyal10"

Sorry. Was still in 5.0 mind set when I posted. I was thinking out loud. I installed a Lund Tune , JLT CAI, and Corsa cat backs. If I were going to install anything else it would be headers and an aluminum drive shaft. The gauges are cool. Just not $2K cool.

$1500 is terrible for a set of near non-functional < 90's style analog gauges. Hell, even boats have moved to digital monitoring of their engines.

You want a really cool mod, take a screen the size of say a Samsung S5 and get it installed somewhere nice on the dash and run the gauges digitally (like our dash) on it. I'm sure it could be easily done for less then $1500 and actually look modern. Think Tesla with its huge center console monitor.

This cant be hard to do, the 5.0 liter Cruiser (GM) engine that I had in my 2008 boat had a connection to connect digital gauges to systems like Lowrance. This has to exist for our engines.

PP dash is nice on the ecoboost because stock digital boost gauge only goes to 20psi while the PP analog goes to 25+ psi.

Guys i have the euro performance pack that comes without the gauges, vents only. do you think if i get the whole panel with the gauges from ford i will be able to do the swap?
