i've been meaning to post but keep forgetting... are the fog lights on the gt performance pack pretty useless in lighting up the road in front of the car? i can barely notice they come on, just a tiny bit of extra light on the far right/left side of the hood when looking forward. i might not miss them as much as i thought if i go with brake duct cooling :)

they are more for other people to see you, not to illuminate the road.

Really, they are "driving lights" as "fog lights" are amber in color to cut through the fog.

brake duct cooling time! hahaha. phew, at least i'm not the only one.

tidbit: years ago, my dad had a jag where the "fog light" button increased the brightness of the red rear running lights as well.

I believe that the intended purpose of the fog lights is to better illuminate the roadway striping directly in front of the car in dense fog. I think they work well.

You're not noticing the difference because the regular headlights are just that good. In dense fog, however, the headlights would be obscured because they are higher up. That's where the fog lights come in because they shine down lower to the ground. Same principle as to why not to use your brights in fog. All that does is blind other drivers and make the fog in front of your car glow.

My driving lights work great and illuminate the sides of the road very well. With deer and stuff around these lights are fantastic and I'm glad I got them. Turning them off, the headlights are also great but the driving lights provide more coverage

eh... I think I see better at night in my ST than I do in my GT, to be absolutely honest. Not like it's hard to see at night with either in any way. Just the ST is a bit better.

It all has to do with beam pattern more than color. Fogs have a wide beam driving lights have a narrow longer beam. Technically the S550 has a fog and yes they are pretty much useless....
