Yep. I learned from that if I'm going to walk away with the engine on I better make sure I hit lock lol.

if someone hops in they're gone, but as soon as they shut it down it's not restarting. So if it's a real thief I'm sure they know what's up. If it's a joyrider, where ever he shuts it down is probably where it will be recovered.

Wouldnt the car be locked, even when started from a distance, until you physically walk up and touch the handle with the key on you or press the un lock button?

I was letting my car warm up and had the "key" in the cup holder inside the car, forgot something, got out and the freakin doors locked with my key on the INSIDE of the car!!!!!!!! I tapped on the door handle, did the Nay-Nay in the driveway, sang a love song to it, and NOTHING!!!

Good thing I was in my driveway and was able to unlock it with the second key inside the house. WTF??

thats not the first time ive heard of someone locking their keys inside the car. that's why i always remove the physical key and take it with me whenever i drop it off for service or the car wash, just in case.

Speaking of this crazy key fob, has anyone got in the car closed the door had the alarm arm? It's happened to me about 10 times in the two weeks I have had the car now... Crazy thing to me is it doesn't even arm or lock automatically when I walk away just when I get in the car.

Ford really is behind the times technology wise (if this is true) as my five year old Maxima will not allow the doors to be locked with the key fob inside the car.
It'll also lock the gas door when locking the car, another thing the Mustang should do as well.:shrug:
Not a deal killer, won't stop me from buying one.

I have got out of the car with it running and let my buddy drive it home 4 miles, I still had the fob in my pocket and he killed it 3 or 4 times and he just pushed the button and started back up and off he went

Is there a delay or something that causes the car to not restart without the Fob? Can't even believe you can start the car without the thing.
