I noticed that in the front bumper of my GT premium the are vents on the sides of the fog lights that should vent towards the wheel. However, mine has foam blocks that seem to be glued inside them. Is this intended to be there after production? Should this have been removed by the dealer? I tried to take a picture but the lighting doesn't want to play nice.

Thanks!

Not sure if I should bump that one, but I don't see where it was clear on whether or not to keep them in there. I do have the 20 inch wheels and I will leave it alone for now. I think the best answer would be to review the PDI checklist from Ford if anyone has it.

Thanks again!

They are intended to be removed, a lot of dealers missed them. They should just pull right out pretty easy

I'm seeing it was intended to be there for the 20 inch wheels. I'm seeing it in the ones I check out in the area. Right now I'm trying to track this down as a part number, if it doesn't exist I will take it as confirmation, or a copy of the PDI inspection sheet.

As as follow-up, I contacted Ford and Ford Racing [email protected], they replied back, "cars that are factory equipped with 20” wheels get the aero curtains blocked off", without the explanation why. I stated the explanation previously as I also stated that Ford Engineering is way smarter than you think.

So, again, if you have the factory 20's, and you took the foam blocks out because you listened to someone's opinion, your car is not the way that the FoMoCo factory and Ford engineering designed it. I'd put them back. They are available at the dealer....

So, Blk2105GT, Wblv17 and all others that just opined about the issue, as I stated before, your wrong. There was a reason Ford Engineering intentionally installed the Foam Blocks on the cars equipped with 20 inch wheels...it wasn't for the PDI's guys at the dealer to overlook, it is because of the stance and width of the wheels past the fenders.

Apologies accepted!
I think they are there because the rims are pushed out more compared to the car optioned with the 19in wheels. Here is another thread on the subject http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?p=547451#post547451

I have seen this on base model with 18s as well. I know because mine had them too. Pulled it out the 2nd day I had the car.

Great...you had to throw that in there:lol::lol:...so much for only being with the 20" wheels
