i know I know, hold the negative comments

Basically I just got some long tubes and was wondering if there was any reputable tuner that could send me a flame tune for the occasional flame out the back just for shits and giggles at car shows etc.

Cheers,
Vincent

Considering this would affect emissions equipment, I would say no. A few years ago, you would have no problem getting someone to at least try what you are requesting. These tuners used to do ghost cams as well.

A rundown of why they stopped doing things like this:

1) It's time consuming and they are busy
2) If you aren't catless, it will destroy your cat in a hurry. With it affecting emissions equipment since the EPA crackdown several months ago, they won't touch this request
3) It would most likely take a few tune revisions to get this right

Yeah, that makes sense. I actually asked Lund and he straight up told me to fuck off haha. Got his ghost cam tune though, but not really my thing tbh.

guess I’ll have to look around and do some more research, and ask some private tuners

Didn't know PBD also did Email tunes, they're really worth considering. That crackle tune sure is interesting! Just sent them a mail.

Back in the 90’s the kids did it with straight pipes, a rich tune and a spark plug near the end of the exhaust......I didn’t think much of it then and don’t now, but hey it’s your car.
My SVO shoots 10’ flames with race gas on the 2-step, but it’s not intentional, just a by product when running at the edge.

A car without cats will crackle more than a car with cats.
I was referring to the flames part that would kill your cats. Although tuning your car for pops and crackles will shorten the lifespan of your cat. Not sure how much though.

From how I understand it, fuel-injected cars cut fuel on closed-throttle decel. In order to hear pops and crackles, tuners program the ecu under certain conditions so the fuel cut either doesn't happen or happens gradually.
You can get a carbureted vehicle to pop and crackle a lot more than a fuel-injected vehicle because it doesn't have a fuel cut on decel like a fuel-injected vehicle does.

Yeah, I tried messing around with VCM myself, but I can't see a DFCO table to mess with... Was hoping someone out there already figured it out.

It's weird because there's people shooting solid flames with just axlebacks and a basic tune, meanwhile I can't even get decent pops from mine...

Also, PBD doesn't offer their crackle tunes for 2015 thru 2017

If you put fuel in the cylinder without a spark you will wash your cylinder walls. You wil also have gas in your oil.

The only question is how much.

Just install a N2MB WOT box. It gives you 2 step and will allow you to have no lift shifts on a manual car. It will also pop and spit some flames from time to time. There are plenty of videos on youtube that you can see what it does.

Auto Mafia Racing has the “Tommy Gun Tune”, which creates some pretty insane pops. I think you could shoot the occasional flame on this tune, but not a ton.
