Those groves in the fender liner look like they would match up perfectly with a tire tread!
They sure did! I bought the car sight unseen from a dealership several states over; I sent them that picture and they sent me a new liner. Been good ever since.

Can you just swap them for screw in fender fasteners , rather than just the press fit. The screw in type might have a bit more purchase.

I replaced most of my fender liner fasteners with the regular serrated push in ones. They are super easy to remove with the right tool and even re-usuable for a time or two. You can buy bags of a hundred pretty cheap on Amazon. And they hold so much better than those plastic push pin things.

I've said it before, the fender areas (front and rear) are portals to alternate universes. They swallow tools, clips, they have odd holes at the bottom...who knows what lurks within.

At any rate, OP I believe you can use different fasteners to hold the liners in place. I'd be tempted to adapt a few nuts, bolts, and fender washers for the job then paint them black if they're not already that color.

This also happened to my car. I did NOT hit anything; it was from too many high-speed runs. These were (both sides) replaced under warranty back in late 18. I have made lots of speedy runs since then and all is good!

In my case My 19 had the push pins disappear from the left front fender well in the first 5,000 miles , the shadow/outline of the hole was smaller than the size of the pins on the right front liner. bought the car new, never had any of the pins changed, so... I think someone on the build line either pulled the wrong ones to install, or ran out of the proper sized ones. I replaced with the same size used on the right and no reoccurrence .
