I would think a 305/30 would make for a harsh ride compared to a 285/35 or a 295/35.

I'd definitely consider a 295/35 if it can fit.
305/30 is about 9/10ths of the sidewall of a 285/35, so its a bit less, yes.

I run a 295/35/19 Conti 02 on a 19x10.5 up front +35 offset. No issues, flush with fender. Non handling pack car

That’s with only 1.7 degrees negative camber so you could tuck them in more with camber plates/bolts

I run 19x10 +30mm in the front with conti ecs 02s 285x35x19 stock suspension non pp without any problems
