Hi everyone,

2018 GT PP1 corsa extreme active exhaust, stock tune, VMS 17x10 with nitto555r2 305/40/17.

my previous 1/4 was with stock wheels and tires and my best time was a 12.6. Really hoping to break into the 11’s with the wheels and DR’s.

what would those of you that know much more than me suggest for launching and running my best time.

drag made, track and advanced track disabled, D mode.

What Psi should I run my tires at? I do have to drive home about 45 min and I won’t be able to get an air pump in time to get them back up. I was thinking 25PSI?

would love and advice, thanks!

I don't have any advice about the tires themselves but you can buy very cheap airpumps that are either battery operated or plug into your cigarette lighter

19-22psi cold. Footbrake the engine RPM to 1700-1900. When the light drops to green, let off the brake and mash the go pedal the rest of the way to the floor at the same time. Shallow stage as much as possible.

@Airborne5.0 A shallow stage means just BARELY light the "Stage" bulb or second yellow. You want to be just inside where the light is just on past a flicker. Don't go deep where the top "pre stage" light is out and only rhe bottom is lit.

I would definitely pick up an air pump, or make friends at the track and borrow one. Alot of people are friendly and will always lend a hand to a fellow racer.

If you find yourself in the position where you are slowly crawling forward (brakes aren't holding the car enough), you can hold the emergency brake button in, and manually hold the parking brake. There is more going on, but you will have to release the brake at the same time you release the brake pedal.

If you feel the rear "hop" or "chatter"; LET OUT!

Also, it looks like you have the Nitto NT555R on the rear. Cory is right with the pressure. I would go on the lower side first to see how the car feels and reacts.

Also, when you do your burnout, depending on the track and weather conditions, you do not need to do a giant, John Force, JJ DA BOSS, Street Outlaws style burnout.

If you have a friend, great, if not, great, adjust your driver's side mirror down as low as it will go to where you can just see the rear tire in the burnout box. Pull forward just to the end of the water. You do not want to be in the water. Do your burnout and, assuming it's still warm out, or if the sun is on the track (not night time and not cool) as soon as you see smoke from the rear tire, release the brake easily, drive out of the burnout and slowly and steadily, release the gas pedal. This should allow you to "drag" your rear tire out of the water, clean the tire, and get enough heat in it while transferring the rubber to the track.

It should look and feel like one solid movement and you may hear a little chirp at the end when the tire comes to a slow roll.

I've ran my 22GT about 30 times NA so far. Heres what I do that seems to work best.

I run a 305/45/17 ET street SS. At about 30psi. No need to drop them on a prepped track with an NA car.

Short first smoke 1st gear burnout. Wait until you see smoke in your side mirror, then let off and drive it out into the VHT.

Drag mode, advanced trac off. shifter is D all as you said.

Stage normal and bring revs up to about 1700. Car likes RPM off the hit.
Hold brake with left foot, bring revs up with right. Then as the tree goes, just go to the wood, letting off the brake at the same time.

Here's my last pass in 3000da and 90* heat here in FL.

Another with the burnout and a shorter tire.

Nobody has mentioned yet, leave on the last yellow light, don’t wait until you see green. Each bulb is .500 seconds. Also common curtesy to not hit your second stage light until the other guy has his first lit.

This only matters when you’re heads up racing another opponent. He doesn’t need to be concerned about that if he’s just getting seat time and looking for a timeslip.

Hi. Easy Peezy. Buy one of these 12vdc mini compressor and keep in your trunk. I put them in all of my children's cars for emergency tire air ups. Good Luck!!

Every track I've ever been to has air you can use to fill the tires before you leave the track. You shouldn't need your own air compressor.

Whats the 60'? Trying to see what my car could do if it actually had good gearing and a converter. I can do about a 2.2 60' but I trap 118mph.
