A few days ago I bought a 2019 Mustang GT with a Roush supercharger. It also has these options: Premium, 401A, Bang and Olufsen stereo with a 10R80. It is an excellent car. I had flown 1,200 miles north to buy the car and was on my way home when I decided to stop in Dayton, OH and run it at Kil-Kare dragstrip. My first run was 11.31 at 132 MPH. I had skipped the burnout and wanted to experiment as the night progressed. Due to track cleanup delays, I only got one more run. It was 12.1 and 131 MPH and had significant wheelspin.

This car has optional 20" wheels. The tires are 35 series low profile and have a 500 treadwear rating. They were never going to perform well on the dragstrip, but I wanted to see what it would do. A friend came out and let me borrow his helmet. I had forgot to pack mine when I was preparing for the flight.

I would like to get it into the 10's, but I want it to handle well.

This is my new ride.

Purchase a drag set of wheels. 305/45/17 DR's (M/T or 555Rll's), and front skinnies. You'll have 10.70-11.0 potential.

Congrats on the new to you S550 purchase - welcome to the site too! There's a ton of info/tech and great folks on here, so stick around and don't fear asking questions - it's the only way to learn about the S550 characteristics.

There is also the Drag Racing/Launching sub-forum on here which has a ton of info for S550 tips at the track:

Drag radials, axles and a stop the hop kit and you should be in the 10s, keep doing suspension mods and you will get deeper and deeper into the 10s. Then when you want to go do some road courses, take the drag wheels off and you are all set to go rip some corners:like:

Everyone, thank you for the helpful information. My car definitely needs new rear wheels and dedicated drag radials to get it into the 10's.

Great looking ride. Just curious, did you pick that up in the Chicago area?

No sir. I bought it in Michigan.
Gotcha. There was an exact match here in northern Chicago that I test drove. Same color, same roush setup. With You saying you flew 1200 miles, figured that would be one heck of a small world!
