Here's one I took on my t5. I a, very new to this. (I took this the day after I got the camera). I edited in Apple Mac photos :doh: I have Photoshopping but don't know how to use it!!:headbonk: this was shot in RAW. I'm not sure if transferring the pic to the iPad messed with the quality but we will find out when I post this! Haha

Check out www.slrlounge.com for tips. The guys who own it were actually my wedding photographers and got me into HPDE/track. I dabble a bit in photography as well and theres a lot of great info on there.

good info in here. all adobe programs are very easy to get free if you take a little time to learn about torrenting.

Lightroom is more about managing a photog's workflow and image library, as well as "developing" your shots. It also has nice features to backup your libary. The changes you make to an image are non-destructive so you always have the original image. You can achieve the same thing in PS using layers. Photoshop is far more powerful as an image editor. Adobe seems to be slowly moving photo editing features from PS to LR.

Todd, last year I took a "Intro to digital photography" class at a local community college. It taught the basics of composition, exposure etc. and also used Lightroom extensively. It was a great way to get immersed in it quickly. If you have the time I think it's a good way to go. Being enrolled at the community college also gave big discounts on the Adobe CC suite of applications.

Steve, so if you already have PS, would there be any real benefit to getting Lightroom? Is there anything Lightroom does, excluding workflow management, that PS doesn't?

Hey thanks for the email. Here's a quick edit with Lightroom trying to showcase the Comp Orange. I've put together a few other edits as well, but if you still have the RAW file it would work a lot better. Details in the highlights and shadows usually suffer when converting the image file to jpeg.

That's an excellent camera. I got to use my A6000 on my Europe trip this past winter properly for the first time. I love the tilting screen, allows me to hold the camera high while still focusing on the subject. I also like that it comes with an electronic viewfinder, as most mirrorless cameras in that price bracket doesn't come with one. It also focuses very quickly as well.

Took a day trip to Skyline Drive with my parents Sunday and enjoyed the weather. The sun was at 2 o'clock which meant either the sun was in the shot or casting shadows almost straight down making things a challenge for my amateur skills. All processing was done in lightroom really just to balance the exposure. I had to use the histogram to review my shots as just looking at the image using the LCD did not help.

Lenses used were my dad's 18-200 f4-5.6, 50mm f1.8, and a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 that my dad rented. I took over 600 photos but only just started processing last night so these are just the first few ready to post.
