Good effortSo, I think I confused the hell out of Ford, when I booked in my car for its first service! "But sir it's not due for a year or 10,000 miles" I know and every Mile has been a joy! Anyone else reached 10k yet?![]()
when did you pick yours up and what are they charging please? This has probably already been done in other threads but people will be approaching this milestone so...Good effortwhen did you pick yours up and what are they charging please?
I think you are being ripped off there, here is the listed price including VAT. It can be taken out anytime before the 1st service due. This has probably already been done in other threads but people will be approaching this milestone so...
In the UK the Mustang service interval is 10K miles or 1 year.
My Mustang GT Auto is now just at 9K miles and at around 7K miles it had to have an early engine oil change and I expect to change the oil again at 10K miles to get back on track.
The service costs will likely be fixed by Ford on a standard menu basis although I expect we will see some dealer variation. The service price will only cover what is included in the minor or major service schedule and anything like brake pads will be extra.
Around time of collection my dealer quoted Service plan for the Mustang to cover the first 3 services over 3 years or 30,000 miles etc. ÂŁ826.80 incl VAT
I was told that this works out cheaper than paying for individual services but I don't know the exact price which will be different depending on if it is a interim or a major service.
The service schedule and what is involved in detail can be downloaded from ETIS and a lot of it is inspecting things so anyone doing their own oil changes etc in place of a service may be missing out on some of checks.

The Mustang pricelist indicates that the services plan has to be taken on collection of the vehicle but I took the extended warranty and we agreed I could pay for the service plan with the first service.
The Ford service also includes 1 year of Ford Assist regardless of if you use the service plan or pay as you go.
Thanks, I just checked the Mustang Pricelist dated 29/02/2016 which states...I think you are being ripped off there, here is the listed price including VAT. It can be taken out anytime before the 1st service due.

Do you know a good garage to use for the mustang? You dont have to go with ford you can have it done by any garage that is registered and use ford parts get keep receipts warranty wont be affected . I have been doing this for years prices that dealers charge is ridiculous .
I just use my bro in-law beside me for all my work .Do you know a good garage to use for the mustang?
This is happening on a few. You can get it sorted under warranty. Do not pay a penny! Do not let them fool you into paying for this or a service.Mines just past 5k miles but says engine oil needs changing.
Isn't that basically the 1st service?
Also how does the car know the oil needs changing?
stevec what do you mean 'get it sorted'? ford just said it wasn't meant to be on and they just cleared the message on mine. This is happening on a few. You can get it sorted under warranty. Do not pay a penny! Do not let them fool you into paying for this or a service.
