I'll be the first to admit that I'd have bought a GT over an EcoBoost if I felt able/willing to spend the extra money.

But the EcoBoost is great in its own right.
My wife gave me permission to buy either, but I can't justify the extra cash. I had an 11 GT when they first came out, but now I'm at a point in my life that I feel like I should spend the money elsewhere.

I like all the engines. They are all impressive in their own way and they all have a place in the pecking order.

The thing that is getting annoying on this forum is this.

*opinionated V8 owner* "V8 or nothing everything else sucks"

*EB owner* "Hey guys we are all Mustang owners lets stop the bashing already"

*EB owner in a EB thread about mods or mpg* "those GTs are such a waste I can mod my EB to near GT levels while getting superior gas mileage. Who needs a overpriced GT"

The Hypocrisy on this forum is terrible and people really play the victim card often.

If a GT owner doesn't like the EB and they voice their opinion then oh well the world isn't all roses and buttercups. When you need to lash back/ defend then you're trying to convince yourself.

Just food for thought. I'm sick of the bickering and petty arguments.

Off soap box.

Ps. Wilkinda this wasn't targeted at you.

Brent, I'm with you on the bickering over someone's choice of motor. Buy what you want. I just hate when someone else tries to tell someone they made the wrong choice. Who are we to decide what is right or wrong for someone else.

The Mustang community is bad with in fighting. The Cobro against 5.Bro threads are the same way. What I really don't understand is some of the hated for a 4cyl Mustang. Ford did not put an underpowered, garbage, fuel economy based motor, they built a 4cyl Mustang that competes toe to toe with a Camero SS on a drag strip. I love these cars, and I'm coming from an 04 Cobra.

For most people deciding between the EcoBoost and GT all comes down to money in the end.

For some maybe. Personally, the GT was never a contender for me--they've always been a little too obnoxious for my taste, plus I dont like V8s. I would have considered the V6 if ford offered a performance and/or premium pack. But since they dont, and since I prefer agile handling and dont need to try to impress others with a roaring engine, I went with the EB.

There we go. That is exactly what I did. Asking first for a V6 premium to figure out that I had to take the EB to get premium. On top. The prices in Canada are already much higher than in the USA. I could have paid easy a GT in the USA and still had money left. If you have family, house and a 18 year old who is always broke ( :D ) - you have other bills to pay too. I did think about the get a GT in the process of buying. Luckily I didn't. Juniors EVO 4 is in the shop. Drove down to Calgary to buy for him a transmission plus a transfer case on Saturday. We did spend the last 3 weeks now another $2,500 for his car only on parts. That's when I buy my kids what they like to have because I never could buy it when I was young.

Don't ask what my wife is saying if we talk about cars! She has no idea. But she likes new cars.

Good ole Evo 4. Cut your losses and get a R33 GTS-T, the prices in Japan are close but the Skyline is a little cheaper. Not sure how many have been brought to Canada since you guys can import at 15 years...luckies.

Don't bring this stupid idea to my sons head! :paddle:
I have enough trouble with this EVO 4. Next upgrade is a stick of dynamite!

I see. Are you from Japan? :headbang:

Not from Japan, just stationed here for a couple years. The Evo 4 is notorious here for being incredibly unreliable and my Subaru B4 wasn't any better. My Skyline has been great so far.
