FI GT is faster in a straight line? I thought they'd be similar. I was told in another thread 0-60 of a FI GT would be high 3s.

I recently wrecked the nicest car I've ever owned(16 GTPP full exhaust, tune, e85). It was and is still sickening to me, but I'm ok and no one was hurt...sooo time to get back in the saddle...

My plans all along were to put a PD blower on the car, unless i found a centri for a deal i couldn't pass up. Finding out i would be a father put a temporary hold on this.

By my math i was into the GTPP 49k, after the blower you're looking to get close to 60k after supporting mods and tires.

I'm finding barely used GT350s getting close to 50k (a new one offered to me at right over 60k) and i believe headers and a tune would make me plenty happy on one of those. I read a lot of good things about them, just curious if they are that much more special than the car i loved.

So I'm just looking for opinions basically, i drive a 2 lane country highway or have the option for a more curvy backroad as my work commute, maybe 25-30 miles one way...Would you make a beast of a GT since you loved the last one, or would you save a tad(maybe sell a motorcycle) and get a GT350?
I feel your pain!!!! I destroyed my gt350 a month ago. Miss it bad. Get a GT350 if you get the chance.

Thanks man. I still have a sick feeling in my stomach, as I'm sure you did also. Will you be replacing yours with another 350?

To me, either one you chose, you win. Let's face it guys, the GT350 is a super handling, powerful, hott piece of ass. The GT with FI (and suspension mods), is also a terriffic handling, powerful, smokin' piece of ass. (For a car). It's like asking what do you prefer, a brunette, a blonde, maybe a redhead? Either way you'll love the curves, love how she handles, love how she responds, and love what she'll do to you. Uh, . . .for you, I meant. :D

I'm on the fence. Kinda wanting to see what Ford is going to offer for the next Mach or GT500 before I make a decision but I will say that the 350 is definitely worth it. Another thing to consider is resale value. If I had wrecked my old GT, I would've lost my ass but my insurance damn near paid me what I paid for my gt350 new. It holds it's value well. That and it is no comparison on the driving experience. My Boss was nice but not even close to the gt350.

If i were financially able I'd wait until the 500 came out too probably, just in case.

I got really lucky with State Farm, i paid 37k for a GTPP and had 8k of mods...i owed 33k and they gave me 37.5k, still blown away really. No way i could've sold it for even payoff from what I'm seeing them go for currently.

The resale of the 350 is a huge plus for splurging too, because if i would've had to sell mine I'd lost way more money. If i get another GT I'll have to roll the dice on losing mod money if something occurs and i need to sell...nature of the game i suppose

Not completely outta the question, keeping an eye on what boostworks comes out with. Any kind of FI will be installed by my dad and i, a good learning experience for me and we enjoy stuff like that.

We cussed a lot during the header install on the gray one and no way i was taking those off to do turbo lol. May have a blank slate now:thumbsup:

Go GT350, longtubes, ported cobrajet manifold with large single blade TB and intake, e85 tune and get a shorter rear end gear. That would be a blast and likely can make 550-560whp.

I have both, a 15 base PP Recaro's , Roush Supercharger and other supporting mods. Plus a bone stock 16 GT 350 track package. If I had to sell one,,,,, the supercharged 15 PP is gone. The 350 is just way too much fun!!

Just to kinda prove my point about the 350, A guy asked me how much money I had in both cars. I told him well over $100k. He started naming all these cars I could have bought with that kinda money. I thought about it and told him, not one car I could think of in that $100k mark would make me smile as much as every time I hit that start button in my 350! The 350 is just an amazing vehicle!

Nice! Have you changed out shifters in either car? Thoughts on the difference in transmissions?

Went to State Farm today to get my check for the leftover and sign a couple things, asked about the damage going forward while i was there...guy was really helpful as he probably realized i was still a little embarrassed by the whole ordeal.

So for anybody who decides to turn their beloved car into a total loss and is insured by State Farm, here is what you can expect...

For the same car, insurance will increase $43/month...or for the shelby it'll go to a $58/month increase

And after 3 years this is off my record.

At this point, i cannot thank/recommend State Farm enough
