I am going to create an entirely seperate thread based on my recent experience where I was fortunate enough to literally inspect inch by inch 3 gt350s (track and two tech). But one thing I wanted to keep seperate from that thread because I think this one deserves its own thread.

The stripes....

I'll just say it, they look pretty horrible up close. They are literally a sticker and the paint on them is not the same material (obviousl) as the paint on the car. Of the 3 cars I saw, two of them already had theirs peeling off from different areas. It looks really cheesy and ruins the car.

If you like elegant look and classy aggressive stance, dont do stripes.

Obviously to each his own. I'm sure as much as there are people who like gold colored wheels, I am sure some people like stripes. But I wanted to warn people that the pictures are misleading. You need to see one upclose.

I was actually shocked because from the pictures on the internet or from a distance (because I did see this before but not so close and didnt spend much time with the car last time) they look nice. I wouldnt do stripes now which really complicates things because almost every single car I found had them. That means I now need a new allocation to build my own:(

Comparing tacky wheels with stripes on a Shelby? Why don't you just go back to the BMW forums already?

You guys need to grow up. See my other thread I just posted, I actually loved the car minus build issues.

Stripes look absolutely horrible, I was just trying to help so people dont order a car without ever seeing one with stripes and have buyers remorse. What does this have to do with BMW?

The point I was making with gold wheels was there is always the "to each his own" with anything and stripes may be fine for some people.

This - as your (at least) 2nd thread commenting on how crappy the build quality of the car is, go buy something else and quit bitching about a car you don't even own.
Wow, you guys just want to read what you want to read and ignore rest. I loved the car besides the build issues. Did you read the whole thread or did you read the first paragraph and moved to the end?

And whats with the "go buy your BMW". What BMW should I buy? I already have a BMW. BMW is shit when it comes to making 2 door sports cars. They are in this for the shareholders not drivers.

I have seen the stripes up close on a few different cars and I disagree with your assessment . I will say I don't like the factory stripe color options so I am having mine done aftermarket.

Time is money, you've already wasted enough time spouting nonsense on this board to more than make up for the 500. I swear the only reason you post is to get on peoples nerves. You do a great job of it. Did they get fed up with you on the BMW forums too?

That was not my intention at all.

I think the only way you guys will truly forgive me is when I take delivery of my car. Then you can stop flaming me.

Mustang vs. Germans

I've had a few V10 M5's and they are, presently, the favorite cars I have ever owned. Their high revving quick spinning NA engines sounded great and made a ton of power but those days are long gone. In 2011, I bought the new the twin turbo CLS63 so I'm very familiar with the fit & finish and power. I'm also aware that that car and most of the new turbo M's and AMGs are fairly passionless automobiles with, in BMW's case, a nearly stock engine with bigger turbos and a few upgrades for durability.

The other key point is the M's are based on 45,000-80,000 cars that are then sold for 80,000-110,000. The Mustang is, at it's heart, a 24,000 car and you have to expect some differences based on the price point. The reason I ordered the GT350 is my BMW 335 M-Sport is as about as exciting as a toaster, the M2 is impossible to find and powered by a the same engine as the 335 and the M3/M3 pipe the engine sound through speakers for 80,000. The GT350's hand build V8 is in a league of it's own and it's unworthy to bash it endlessly against very different cars.

Good points, I agree.

I dont know still why everyone is focusing on negativity here (human nature?), I will buy this car:)
