So was this a tell me about how great Whipples are thread or a thread about the canned Edelbrock calibration?

:threadjacked:

I would hope a Whipple representative would have a little more class than to badger a thread of someone seeking info about a competitors product...
First, I'm giving actual info. Notice all the Edelbrock customers chiming in???

Second, just answering the questions and rhetoric questions/statements from shelbygt350, which if you do a search, you'll see why......

Everyone can make their own decision, having proper information is key to making a decision you won't regret later on. Knowledge is power.

I've got a 2017 and had the 2650 installed since the 1st with the Edelbrock Tune. Besides injectors and some cooling mods the car is bone stock automatic and the car drives like stock. Brenspeed will be doing some video of dyno runs with both the Edelbrock Tune and Brent's tune in the next couple of weeks. Not sure when they will be posted on his youtube channel but he does already have a before/after of the 2300 vs. 2650 with full exhaust/intake/TB/injectors/BAP/pullied and the 2650 kills the 2300....

Fine. Why don't you refrain from commenting on Edelbrock product since you don't work for them and don't know the details of their company, their engineering or their trade secrets? Feel free to comment on Whipple's product in Whipple's threads and leave the Edelbrock folks alone.

Let me rephrase. I'm not worried about grenading a MT82. I have the perspective of having an eye to maintaining reliability of the car (within reason). Based on what I've seen so far, many of the mt82 failures seem to be operator error when there is twice the power coming into that input shaft. Hopefully, I'm a little older and wiser there.

I decided I don't want a centrifugal style because of power output characteristics. I am currently getting more involved in autocross, but this is about having a seriously sneaky street car and instant torque is what taps the fun meter there.

I don't want 750+ rear wheel hp, because I don't want to deal with real life things that go with that. I do want more than 535hp, but the can tune maintains the manufacturer drive-train warranty (if installed by ASE). I will be installing myself so that isn't a factor. Of course that"s going to be a conservative tune. For my car, I'm looking for 600-650 rear wheel. Custom tune on the eforce netted 605hp/500tq I believe. I'm also aware that I've referencing the 2300.

I'm not knocking anyone's anything because when you shell out $6-8k, what they purchased is going to be the best on the market in their mind. However, the Edelbrock packaging and design got my attention. Whipple is on my very very short list too because it seems rather proven.

Apologize if I caused the thread to move off topic. The question, is anyone running the can tune? If so, hows the drivability.
Whipple's flight control system lets you dial it back to near stock levels or open it up to sheer insanity! First time I got into my Whipple equipped 2015, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! Now I'm used to it andwish I had more!

Brent finally had some time to get the car on the Dyno. Here are the results, bone stock 2017 Auto. Next week he will add some timing, looks like another 50+rwhp will be there with just his tune.

There has been people with them on the forums before, but remember, not everyone posts. Also some vendors do not feel the need to post in car forums, other vendors do.

Soooo the kit does look nice underhood. The new TVS rotor pack, (because my understanding is that this is a TVS) will make more power and be more efficient at higher boost. Edelbrock always seem to set a very conservative tune out the box, but as with any FI it comes down to the tune.

I'm sure if you let some high end tuner guys loose on this setup it will make power....all the power you want. So in the end it does come down to fit n finish and what you want. Choice is always good. If I was going to go FI...twins all the way.
