I know you've had problems too, this was my dream and I sold a new truck to help pay for it and the thought of the whole dash getting ripped out to replace the loom has really pissed me off, also the dealorship haven't done it before so how this is going to end up God knows.I know it's the luck of the draw but there's a lot going wrong with these cars and the way I feel at the moment it will be stock suspension back on and traded in.Image shows what they have to do to get at the AC evaporator failure.

Yep! That's what the yanks have been having to put up with with AC failures, some have had it done a couple of times.I haven't got a choice the only fix for these bad connection/connectors is a new wiring loom.I new that when the new actuators failed after a few hours it was something more involved but I was hoping it wouldn't come to this butchery.

Looks terrifying, but in an attempt to put a more positive spin on it, it is just a case of following the correct removal procedure and taking care. Some dealerships are capable of this...
Personally i'd be taking the opportunity to carbon-dip the hell out of the dash ;)
Hoping for the best for you...

I feel for ya man at least with the oil cooler its no more difficult than doing an oil change.

But dash out or trim removed scares me as it generally always goes back in place and then you have annoying rattles.

I would advice you ask to speak to the service/tech manager or deal principle. Explain to him that when they carry out this repair that your expecting any damaged fasteners or weakened fasteners to be replaced with new as you want the car put back together both problem and rattle free as your feeling stressed by all this and the idea of trading up in a years time is now becoming a distant memory.

They need to understand the job needs to be done carefully, not rushed, not against the clock and they should have all new necessary fasteners, clips on hand should they need them.

Any old shite.
How quickly does Ford correct things like this at the production stage?
Like the loom issue for example, what was the timescale between the first cars failing and the revised looms being fitted to the cars during production?
I'm expecting mine summer next year and it would be nice to think that Ford will address this at the production stage before then.
I presume this has been an issue in the states for some time.

Well for the loom issue; they started producing RHD cars in August 2015 and according to recent reports anything built after December 2015 (slowhand99 was it?) likely has the fix in place. I guess it depends on number of failures and how seriously Ford takes this one, ie cars aren't spontaneously combusting...

When my car was built August 2015 it was stuck in the factory for weeks before gate release. Who knows what was going on. There could have been issues that were being addressed I will never know. The first thing I noticed when I took delivery was low coolant level, and the plug/sockets in the wiring loom near washer bottle were hanging down loose
One was near the manifold. I had to tie wrap them up because they wouldn't reach there mounting points so that was an insight to Fords QQ.Reading posts on the AC failures Ford were aware of the problem in 2015 and started fitting revised units so I would have thought by now it would be sorted.I have not read of wiring loom connection failure to actuators as yet, but be aware that if your AC starts blowing warm it's going to be the evaporator, and the reverse of that if you can't get heat or heat is only one side the actuators are playing up.

Update
Service hasn't contacted me yet about parts so that's been a week. I wouldn't have thought this loom would be a regular part, but who knows.Funny thing is at the weekend the complete system started working again, heat both sides, and direction to windscreen, face and floor. What I have noticed is the AC on my side is very slightly less cold???
In my mind I'm convinced it's the evaporator, because that's been the major fault on this system in the states.Iam going to have to speak to the service manager the way forward, but they are convinced it's the loom.I don't want it all ripped out for nothing, and it won't be if it continues working lol.

Fingers crossed for you. I wouldn't want my car ripped apart for no reason :)
