Been meaning to post this one for a while. Anyone else noticed if their heaters smell a bit odd?

Mine have a faint hot oil/rubber smell whenever the climate control is providing heat to the cabin. Reminds me ad classic cars I've had like old VW beetles and my MGB.

Never had it in a car under 15+ years old.

No heater smells for me and I did need the heater after taking my Mustang delivery in December. The only problem I would report was "cold feet" !!!

No cold feet up here in Scotland this week as it is glorious sunshine (torrential rain at home down south). Now that I can finally enjoy the warm driving weather I can report that the air vents are excellent for cool air conditioned air but if driving with the windows down and the aircon off it appears that the air vents route too near the hot engine as the air vents are hot !!!

I think it's just the smell of the warm engine bay filtering into the cabin, but I don't seem to get it when the heater isn't on. Not sure whether to bring it up wit the dealer or not, but I know what the answer will be.

It could well be the smell of hot underseal getting in through the vents...

That did occur to me, and for the first week or two the car would stink on the outside after a run. That was a slightly different smell though. I say the smell is oily and bit like hot rubber, but grease might be a more accurate description.
