Be nice if they were real. I mean the numbers are not impossible to achieve.

I guess we have to wait some more to see the real specs. Until then we will get possible specs with someone of course chiming how its fake because they know the real specs but of course cannot say because then they would not know anymore type threads.
That collection of numbers is impossible to achieve.

Id be happy with:
Power
Torque
curb weight
Do you know the old service department sign?:

-Fast Service

-Low cost

-Quality work

**** Pick Two ****

This is one of these situations. Ford could build the car to meet those goals without breaking out their thinking cap. It would be a $175K car though.

The only way they can get that sort of power out of 5.2L and meet emissions is with a ton of RPM's. A ton of RPM's means a whole lot more money in the motor.

What has a DCT in it that makes more than 750hp? A few zillion dollar hypercars? It would cost a fortune to get a DCT to live behind that sort of power and have a warranty.

Making it light is easy as pie. You just have to spend the money.

Not the power numbers.
Of course if you drop some of those figures, price for instance, you can make just about anything happen.

My statement included all the numbers. Not cherry picked ones.

You could pull of 850cshp with a 9,000rpm+ 4.5L flat plane Hot Vee twin turbo. Now the car is $200,000.

Indeed. But who would have thought a mass produced "pony car" would come with carbon fiber wheels and a NA FPC engine with revolutionary handling characteristics, for a song.

The folks at Ford Performance have pulled rabbits out of their hats before. Especially due to the long development time, I am expecting the same kind of surprises this time around

The weight certainly is plausible. The HP numbers? I don't think they are a far stretch, but based upon warranty and longevity, I could see why Ford wouldn't want to go there and back off.

Speaking of weight, I think that is the issue. Take the ZR1 for instance. I believe the weight of the ZR1 (which is 750HP) is in the 3600 to 3700 pound range. I think it would be near impossible to get a car based upon the S550 chassis down to that kind of weight in a production street legal car. So, my guess for the 500 is going to be in the 760-780 HP range along with a weight in the area of 38-3900#. Throw in a bunch of enhancements that have been developed, and I think you will be left with a very formidable track car.

I look forward to it.

The ZR1 is what? $130K base? If Ford dumped $55K in the GT500 and put it toward weight savings meeting the ZR1 weight would be easy. It's not hard to knock massive chunks of weight out with $$$$. Even with a S550 chassis. Carbon hood, fenders, doors, roof, trunk for starters. Lots of weight can be pulled out of the seats. Start replacing aluminum with magnesium. Lower the brake package weight because it won't have to stop as much mass. Carbon prop and half shafts. Titanium exhaust. Etc, etc, etc. You would be shocked what sort of weight you can pull out with lightweight fuel, water, oil lines.

I cant speak for anyone else, but I would pay that and more for a better Ford product. I should have applied for the GT. However, I don't have a YouTube channel with a million followers. Oh well.

I get it. I am confident that Ford will produce a big bang for the buck product. I've always been a Ford guy and I look forward to it.

Yeah because ford hands out GT approval letters to the popular social assholes. Makes no sense to me.
I just got into it not long ago about this very topic. If one has the money to buy a GT or other vehicle then god dammit it should be sold to them.
Don’t make the choice to sell it to them because they can afford it and also are a social media Hooker.

Sorry I brought up the GT......

I'm looking forward to the 500 and can't wait to see the numbers.

Don’t be sorry.
I agree with you.

If they would build a ultra light weight mustang I’d be in line with you to buy one.

If I had the money I would. But I can hardly justify the GT500 as is.:crying: Woe is me.
