Please don't ever take your car to halfords! MOT or service they will find a way to break it
It would probably be like taking it to Jiffy Lube in the States

1) Remove sump plug
2) Drain oil
3) Put on sump plug
4) Send car on it's way

And let's be honest it's easy to do things like that.

I repair automatic doors. The amount of times I have stood back and waited for what feels like 10 minutes scratching my head wondering why the door still isn't working, only to find out I forgot to plug the mains back in..
But my fuck up doesn't ruin 7k worth of coyote.

Exactly. And doesn't the GT hold quite a lot of oil? I mean it's got to be a lot more than a KA. Can imagine the tech thinking - nah can't be right. Will just put this much oil in like I normally do.
I think it holds 8 litres or thereabouts.

My local Ford dealer quoted £200 for each of the first two services.

Another nearby one said they'd do a service plan for £33.66, plus £20.84 each extra month for four services and two MOTs (£1,013.14 for four years).

Is the Ford extended warranty worth having? I've heard that they exclude so much it wasn't worth it. Although, I had also heard there was another "tier" of warranty level you could get that matched the original.

I purchased Ford Protect Classic 4th/5th Year Extended Warranties at a cost of £540.00 for years 4 and 5 as per the Ford_Mustang_Pricelist UK 2016-02-29 Page 10.

Please see the attached PDF and the extended warranty for years 4 and 5 appears to be identical and a straight extension to the standard 3 years / 60K miles warranty.

For me the extended warranty is valuable because apart from the engine and gearbox the smallest issue with the vehicle in years 4 and 5 such as an entertainment system failure or any other simple electrical problem such as a powered window winder will likely cost more than the warranty. The extended warranty is also transferrable to a new owner which will help future saleability.

I will ensure that Think Ford Guildford does all my servicing and attends to any issues so that there won't be a any dispute in the case of a warranty claim.
