I’ve been noticing recently that when I rev match into 2nd gear in sport mode with the exhaust valves fully open, it sounds like it closes. I’ll blip it from 3rd to 2nd and suddenly it sounds like the valves are suddenly fully closed.
seems to only happen when I keep the rev range above 3500 when blipping from 3rd to 2nd, but soundA just fine and loud if I’m rev matching from 3rd to 2nd within the 3500 or below rev range. I’d imagine if anything, it should be the the opposite (should be loud in the mid to high rev range regardless, like WOT in 6th gear and high revs).
Curious if this is linked to some of the sticky or faulty exhaust valve/flap issues some of you have. This ONLY happens to me in the scenario of rev matching from 3rd to 2nd in the mid to high rev range. Seems to happen every now and again (maybe one in every 4-5 downshifts from 3rd to 2nd). So not all the time, but enough to notice it. Just seems odd.
Anyone else experience this issue?
