So i ordered a Corsa Catback system for my car and when i got under the car to check it out i can see that the previous owner had the car straight piped( the reason im putting an actual exhaust system on my car). so here is my question, what is my best option that will allow me to clamp the new exhaust system on? i do not wanna take it to an exhaust shop and have my new system welded on. i was wondering if i can cut the straight pipes to length and clamp the corsa x pipe to those? or cut the exhast and weld adapters so the corsa system clamps to those? i need some advice

thank you

Pictures are worth 1000 words, but in short, since you bought a catback, everything that's there comes out and is replaced by the Corsa parts. No cutting is needed.

i will go take a picture here in a second. the problem is that the oem exhaust is no longer there, the previous owner removed everything and just had pipes welded in where the factory clamps would be on the factory catback

He welded the oem header to the catback? Ugh.

The cats are gone, I assume?
the cats are still on the car it is chopped and welded down below similar to where the new cat backs would mount up

Bring car to an exhaust shop with catback. They can cut and then add enough 2.25" to match the factory outlet length/position, from which the catback can then be installed. You can get high quality torca clamps that fully seal that joint.

From your description I would cut the old pipe off to where you want the corsa to attach plus 1.5" assuming both pipes are near same OD. Measure the car pipe outer diameter. Then take the corsa to a muffler shop and have the guy hydraulically bend out the corsa pipe to that measured outer diameter 1.5" from the end. Now you can slip fit the corsa to the old pipes and clamp it. The muffler guy has a tool that can easily expand out the corsa pipe in less than 10 seconds.

I'm doing something similar right now for my s550 racecar.

thank you for your responses, so more then likely i will need to take it to an exhaust shop to have it put on? i had planned on installing them myself but i suppose in order to have the fit just right i will need to pay the install fee as well.

here are the pics for reference

thank you for the link
Happy it may be helpful. Just make sure you buy ones like this with the inner sleeve, not the plain C shaped ones, they leak.

They appear to be the same as stock header: 2.25". You should measure to confirm.
