I was finally able to take my car out this weekend during daylight hours for the first time since having my new exhaust installed. As I was walking towards the car from a distance I noticed something underneath it didn’t look quite right, so I hunched down to take a closer look. It appeared that the driver’s side of the exhaust was hanging about 1-2” lower than the passenger side. Without having the car jacked up it’s hard to examine too closely, but nothing appears to be out of order. The hangers by the rear axle looked to be in place. Any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Probably a lose clamp that allowed the x pipe to rotate. You'll need to get under and correct it and re-tighten.

Thanks. It probably doesn't make a difference but it's an H-pipe system. I thought it may be a lose clamp but wasn't sure whether it would cause the piping to hang lower.

I had the same issue. My problem was the h-pipe was crooked on the right side.

I did this too when I installed my lethal H pipe. Didn't notice it until a day or two after that the pipe was halfway from where it should have been. Basically when tightening the rear couplings I didn't notice that the exhaust had sagged and rotated in the coupling. So I backed her up onto my race ramps, loosened up the clamp, pushed the muffler up with my knee as hard as I could and torqued it back down. Perfect after that.

Thanks for the feedback. It's likely the same issue. The guys at ARH reached out and i'm going back soon to have it adjusted (don't have ramps or the space to do it myself). Hopefully it's not a problem to drive the car as is for now, cuz I think I have to make a 4 hour roadtrip down to DC this weekend...

I would advise against a road trip of that length before getting it fixed! If it is loose, there is the possibility/probability that it could drop further and end up hitting the road surface... Could end up doing a lot more damage.

Yeah becareful, depending on how much it's hanging, the heat or rubbing from the muffler started tearing up the corner of the body/diffuser next to it

To be honest I haven't even noticed whether the muffler is hanging lower. It looked fine but I didn't pay super close attention. It's more so the piping underneath the car thats hanging low. Valid points regardless, thanks gentlemen!
