Hi everyone, I’ve recently had the MBRP Active Catback Exhaust installed on my 19. Noticed clamps were poor quality when it was initially installed so had shop weld the exhaust in. Alignment was great up until about a week later and I noticed the driver side sagging. Noticed this issue with the stock exhaust as well. Has anyone had this issue? If so, had any luck possibly heating and bending the rod going into the hanger to fix this issue? I know it’s a minor issue but OCD gets me most times.

Heating and bending the hanger will make it worse, no real control. What is going on further up the line as is X,H, or suitcase delete?

Depending on what's welded, if you have the X or H pipe you could. Loosen all 4 clamps and rotate the X or H pipe, driver side down some. And that in turn will raise the tip outback, the pivot point being the hanger.

Not sure what you mean by "no real control" when bending the metal hanger on the exhaust but that may be his/her only option.

I've had to do it before. Know ahead of time which way to bend it and after heating the bend/corner on the hanger good, put a long piece of pipe over it and bend away. Have a wet rag handy to cool it down.

Remember to bend down if you want to lift the exhaust up (ie. opposite).

That really depends on the person doing it. When I post no control I'm saying the chances of getting the alignment on the first shot are iffy at best.

A mechanical adjustment allows one to move and observe the process. Trying to wield his way out, as with your heat and bend. Most likely will require, let us say some tweaking to follow........... not very precise.

Before I got my Mach1, I ran a NSX and aftermarket exhausts were notoriously known to hang off kilter. A vendor who fabricates parts for the NSX came up with these. Not saying that this is what you’re looking for but much easier than bending, rebending.

1. loosen clamp
2. rotate muffler up
3. tighten clamp
4. tack it in place.

Just unhook the muffler/tips from the hanger and let it droop down to the ground. Then take a large box-end wrench for leverage and reverse loop it over the end of the hanger rod and then just bend it slightly down and then put muffler/tip back up into the hanger and into position and check. Repeat until you get the tips centered exactly the way you want. This method allows you to adjust up/down and left/right.
