According to Whipple it happens more than they would like .... Whipple Army on Facebook has all the posts back and forth with them direct ... Plagued may not have been the correct word but if it is a known problem with the maufacturer then it is certainly more than an isolated incident... and yes ... I am pissed .. had the Whipple for 3 weeks when it got noticed .... The scary part is if I hadn't taken it in to do the opg's and cs I wouldn't have known until it was too late.. Really curious as to how many others have this issue and don't know it because they haven't pulled it apart after the blower was installed...
Yikes.
So the only way to know is to lift the intercooler lid and peek in? Can that be done without draining the coolant?

Be interesting to see how the stock crank will hold up to the bigger blower.

First look at the all new 3.8L Gen 5 Whipple kit for the 11-20 Coyote and 2020 Shelby GT500. This kit looks almost identical to the 3.0L but has a bunch of new features in addition to the new and larger rotors being used in it.-New patent pending dual intercooler for improved efficiency
-New high flow fittings, dual in, dual out, 12an and 16an
-New CFD based inlet design for greatly improved efficiency
-New rotor inlet shape for increased airflow
-New tilted throttle angle for increased airflow
-New, higher flow lid for improved cylinder distribution
-Increased runner length for increased torque/throttle response
-New Whipple rotor profile
-Increased diameter vs length for optimum efficiency
-Updated front pulley and bearing design
-With or without race port
As we get more info we'll be sure to share it with you guys.

If you have a gen 5 kit and are interested in upgrading will you have to sell the kit you have or will there be a head unit swap option
It will not be a direct swap.

Keep in mind the 3.8 is overkill for most people.

That's what a crank support is for. Besides, it's not like it's one of those crank snapping prochargers, LOL, JP.

Seriously though as long as everything is installed correctly it shouldn't be an issue

What's the material used in the 3D model (nylon or PC/ABS)?? Can it be used for actual testing, or just for lookin' at? Tooling that puppy looks to be expensive. But oh-so-cool what you can do in 3D to part in a short amount of time.
