Just to be clear, does 20" wheels add the strut tower brace ?
The one that runs above the engine? No. The 20" wheel option does not add that one. (There's another brace that connects to the fire wall that comes with the 20's and the Performance Pack )

Yeah most of the others are small...the Bobble head drive is driving me CRAZY...My Raptor is a better ride!
Ha! We have three of the same vehicles. Our Raptor is our best riding vehicle as well. LOL

I drove 2 PP cars and two non-PP GT's before ordering. I definitely didn't notice anything I would call bouncy with the PP suspension and I took one of them out for some very spirited back road driving.

Could the OP's problem with that be an early release thing? Doesn't seem like it would be.

You didn't get to drive the 405 at 30 mph obviously

Another complaint here on the thuding trans, what the hell causes that and it's only getting louder with more miles. Otherwise I'm very happy with a tight firm stock suspension, no rattles whatsoever and a factory paint job that continues to bead water still having not givin it a first wax.

I have the base gt pp car as well but no bounces or thud in tranny..wwhen I first got it worried about the gear ratio for daily driving..sometimes I launch in 2nd but no thud..very easy to miss 3rd and go to 5th..did not have that problem with my 2007gt/cs...oh well for 27k or so very nice base car only have 3000 miles so far :)

The thud is in the shifting of gears before releasing clutch...Usually shifting 1 thru 3.

On (1) Adjustable shocks will help a great deal on the ride quality, and still allow you to tune them for track work etc.

I had this in my vert.. with the top up (top down, guess I could not hear it).

I finally looked backed there and noticed the rear passenger seat belt rubbing against the plastic. I moved the rear seat belt up into the place the belt exits and no odd sounds now.

Not sure why the driver side rear was not doing the same thing though.. both buckles were in the same area.
The belt problem is easy to fix. Use Velcro with an adhesive back. One side on the buckle, the other on the panel. No more noise or buckle movement.

As for an early build car, mine was built on Oct 14 and I took delivery on Nov 24. Not a problem since, and I drive it all year. No rattles, squeaks or "flaky" HVAC. Panel fit is outstanding, as is the paint finish. I do drive it in Sport mode when in the city and leave the steering in Sport Mode all the time. Suspension is stock and not PP, but seems to handle the interstate and the curves in the hills very well. No floating or bounce in the ride. It could be because less weight is over the front end. I believe the EcoBoost engine is 300 lbs lighter then the Coyote.

Overall, Ford did a good job with this one. Lots of thumbs up from bikers here for the 75th Sturgis Rally (estimated 1 million bikers) while driving back and forth to home. It is a keeper. :)

I don't know what that is but it doesn't sound fun and I'm glad I don't have to.

I took the car on every kind of road that I normally drive and it was fantastic. I was especially paying attention to ride quality since I'd heard some complaints here on the forum.

Almost certainly this. A lot of media reviewers have noticed that the Ecoboost tends not to be as prone to understeer on corner entry as the GT can be.

I have the GTPP and havent noticed any bounce. Perhaps your dampers are defective?

Mine is a late Nov 2014 build. I had some issues with panel alignment (hood, passenger fender, gas cap, trunk lid!) but the bodyshop fixed all of 'em. Shouldnt happen though!
Only issue is a slight rattle from the driver side left air vent during cold days. I will get it taken care of under warranty sometime, its minor.

Other than that had no issue. Once in awhile there is a clunk/thunk from the tranny/diff, but I like those - no weird feeling at all. Reminds me of the mechanical nature of the Stang. Many others cars just remove these sensations to the point where its like a video game.

Not that anyone cares, I just needed to VENT!

I am not sure its because I read this forum WAY too much, or I have an S550 built on a burial ground.

1. Suspension - BOUNCY ride (and no not harsh / stiff)
2. HVAC / Interior Temperature system is flaky like the day is long
3. Rattle / weird noises from passenger rear seat area, and not a loose panel
4. Transmission, Thud, and other problems many have
5. Vibration at 50 - 70, or 3k rpms
6. Panel alignment issues

Other than that the cars QA has been perfect! :headbang:

Seriously, for those considering buying this, its a great car, However, I truly believe I just have a 1st run, 1st production car lemon...Mine was one of the 1st out the door last year....
I have that rattle in the passenger seat area too! I had someone drive the car, and I sat in the back and if you push on that panel by the rear seat side window it stops. Something is loose there. The suspension was crappy and bouncy. I purchased the $200 CJPony springs, and it solved it. They are 1000000 times better than stock.

I'd buy new springs in a heartbeat to get rid of the bouce if they didn't lower the car.
