Need some help before I drop $300. Couple of weeks ago the car threw a P 1450 code out. Most common cause is the purge valve. Changed that within a couple of minutes of getting the part. Cleared the code and drove the car for a couple more weeks and all was good. Out in the car yesterday for a run and the engine light comes back on. Same code. Question is, is there something else I should be looking at or should I go right to changing the canister?

Check the following:
- Connector to harness - make sure the actual inserts inside the connector head are not damaged or loose.

- Check to make sure the wiring harness is not damaged below the protective conduit.

- Ohm out the actual sensor and see if it is in spec to Ford's parameters. If the replacement sensor was some aftermarket universal Brand-X, there have been known instances of those being bad out of the box. Genuine Ford sensors, Bosch or Borg Warner are recommended replacements that are held to high quality and proper electrical specs.

Thanks I will have the parameters checked out. It’s is an OEM part installed from dealer. Will check things out regardless.
