It's most likely going to be that same valve. Disconnect the hose from it and the power connector. Then start your car. If you feel suction on the part where the tube was connected then the valve is stuck open. (It should not be open unless the power plug is connected to it). Real simple easy test
Sounds easy enough, but I can't get the passenger side hose retainer off without possibly breaking it. Even a video show it being done with the entire assy removed...
What's the trick with it still attached to the engine?

Well as long as I'm talking to myself...I had to unbolt it first to get it off. Maybe, if you squeeze both tangs and push at the same time?
Regardless, here is what happened.
I took it off and some dust fell into the hole, so I vacuumed it out and made sure none stayed before replacing the assy.
I did that test and felt a slight vacuum, so I thought it was broken as stated above earlier.
But I had cleared the code before starting up again and after a day of driving, no more code.
I hope it stays gone, the end

Well it came back yesterday...why is it not persistent? I would think that an electronic part would be either good or not...

Thread revival, did you get it figured out? Was it the fuel vapor canister?

Having this issue myself. TIA

It comes and goes...just got it again yesterday I think. Still have to read the code. So far, no effect to worry about...

I’ve been working on this on and off for about a month now. I swapped out the purge valve, re-did a kinked hose and did a drive cycle and the code relieved itself.

However, I have 2 monitors that won’t come back online. The 02 sensor and 02 heater monitors. If I can resolve that then it’ll smog. Check the 2 lower icons on the top left row of icons (they were blinking)

Yeah, it's back again. Prevents remote starting is the only effect I see...
