Chev tried this method of stacking cars, double row, vertical, they got more cars into each railcar

Geez that would have been a bugger to manage. You would think that they would have to drain all the fluids - engine, trans, diff, fuel tank, remove battery. If so, how they wouldn't be able to drive them anywhere. I wonder how they did it?

That's back when dealers actually had to do real pre-delivery. Unlike the current "worlds most expensive car wash"

I do have a VISTA screen print from the dealer for my Mustang:
-- Lists the NSC order no. (four alpha)
-- Lists dealer as 31060
-- Told by dealer Mustang is scheduled for production for January 2017

VISTA system does not currently record scheduled production month and per advice of dealer stock controller

Ford Order Tracking http://www.cotus.ford.com/
-- I have input my NSC number, D31060 for dealer and my surname

COTUS system returns:
No matching vehicle found. Please verify your input and try again.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Is there any other system where vehicle inquires can be made?

John

Chin up Darryn! Join me on the "blind optimism" train.
Bernborough. Osdaz5.0 & MC, “the optimism train”. I reckon when all of us signed up for this Mustang gig, from the girls and guys before us till now, each of us have boarded that bloody train!!. It comes with that 14 month plus wait, “all aboard!!”

Hi Peter,
Great news, you are officially one step closer to getting behind the wheel of your brand new Ruby Red Mustang Fastback. Production of your vehicle has been completed at the assembly line in Flatrock, Detroit and in the coming days your Mustang with a 5.0l V8 Engine will make its way by train to the port to be shipped. This will take about 20 days.

We will send you another email soon confirming that your vehicle has been shipped and is on its way to Australia.

Hi John,

My understanding is that the "cotus" website is not for the AU market (that is what I was told from Ford AU).

I got the same email today as well! Was so pumped when I read it.

Looks like productions of both of our Stangs were very close together and should be on the same boat.

Hi John,
Send a PM message via facebook to Ford Australia, quote your NSC number. Ask about your VIN number and build date. They will mostly likely say to you based on your estimated production date to come back to them in September. In September ask for your VIN again, once your have this you are on your way to get your window sticker and blend date (build date) shortly afterwards.

I found the NSC useless except for letting Ford know that you have an order placed. That is basically what the NSC is an order acknowledgement.

Hang tight, it is worth it and you are about 1 +/- month from getting the important thing- the VIN.
Regards Paul
