The R has different springs and suspension tuning. The R springs are slightly lower and stiffer than the regular 350 springs. This has been discussed pretty thoroughly. In addition, the sway bars are different on the R as well.

Haven't confirmed for myself but I've read that the dampers actually have a different part number on the R.

They do; the internal valve that controls the fluid movement is I believe narrower on the R to be able to control fine adjustments better. Has to do with the Carbon wheels being so much lighter than the aluminum factory ones.

OK, but what if your girlfriend is so pissed she is going to tell your wife? That can be problematic and expensive.
Get rid of both of 'em! It's always a good time to trade up to a newer model lol

Agreed, the 350 is certainly not a light car. That's not saying that making very strong wheels at those weights isn't possible, Koeniggsegg has proved that it can be done, as their wheels will undergo FAR more stress both laterally and vertically considering the aerodynamic downforce the One:1 generates. But again, those are wheels that are constructed very differently than the ones the GT350R uses.

It could be possible that the method of construction that the GT350R uses is simply much cheaper than if they were to utilize a method that results in lighter weight. But it just makes me dubious that this ESE wheels could be made that light, but also for that cheap while meeting the structural requirements of the wheel.
This is the method used by CR.

That's a damn shame, but at least you got your money back. What rims are you looking at now, if any?

Have you looked into the CF+Forged combo from Forgelines?(http://www.forgeline.com/main-products/carbonforged-series/)
I am actually been looking for an R for past couple month, but really disappointed from the markup from most dealers. So I switched to Chevy and put down my order for the ZL1 1LE beginning of this month. I not only got the car at MSRP but they gave me rebate since switched from Ford :headbonk:

If I recall correctly, it was Carbon Revolution that said one of the issues with the carbon barrel aluminum face rims like those is that the barrel flexes under high loads, giving unwanted camber changes that offset what you gain from the decreased weight, and one of the reasons the CR rims aren't the lightest is because they had to make the barrels stiff enough to not flex under high loads.
