Geared for the track and therefore impossible ? So long as your in the right gear …

Anyhow, Cole Trickle blew his motor purposely in days of thunder … :cwl:

Is this only applicable to the digital dash? The one digital dash car that I did try seemed a bit slower/more laggy than the standard dash with needle. Both the infotainment screen and digital dash seemed laggy to me at that point but the car may have needed a software update or something, this was in 2018.

Anyway on the stock tune my rev limits were different in some gears, like stopped accelerating way earlier in RPM in 5th gear than other gears atleast with the 10r80. With a tune they just move the limiter to 8400 so you almost never hit it, but I have hit it atleast 10-20 times accidently without any problems so far while paddle shifting, it just kills power completely, ive had it even seem like my car turned off a few times but it came back just fine in a couple seconds while still rolling lol

try to set up the performance shift indicator, makes it easier to notice when to shift, there are a few modes you can use:

I wonder if this has anything to do with only 1,700 miles? Most definitely the rev limiter. I'd wait till you get to 3 or 4K before you bang it off the rev limiter again, but that's just me.
I generally shift at 7k.

I have a base 300a car with PP, 6MT. My analog tach is a tad behind in 1st. gear as the car revs so fast.

Rev Limiter is controlled via ignition, interrupting the spark.

MSD offered it as the next gen of the 6A ignition box, don't know the exact origin .

One could almost say there was a mechanical limiter. That being valve float, not predictable, high Rs week springs, range may very.
Points could also float, adding a second return spring the fix.

Of course these are unwarranted, but did limit the RPMs
LOL

With computers and EFI, could assign that duty to the fuel. Howerver that would result in a lean condition and be hard on the motor.
