So the other day i noticed a loud knock/tick sound coming from the engine. I pulled over and shut the car off, and restarted it but the noise was still there. I popped the hood and there was a clear as day knocking/tapping noise coming from the passenger side.
I slowly gave it gas to raise the idle and the sound increased in speed with the engine. This was a definite problem somewhere inside the engine. My best guess is a lifter?
Anyways, i shut the car off and went to go find my phone to record a video. By the time i had come back and restarted my car, the sound went away by the time i had gotten out to take the video.
I made an appointment at ford for this coming tuesday, but my concern is that even with possible damage done to my engine, i wont get any customer service because the noise has gone away.
I would hate to put my whipple on and have an issue a few miles down the road. What do you guys think?

It was a very similar sound to that, but more frequent and less of a thudc more of a metallic thud. I actually saw your thread yesterday. I hope all turns out well for you and your pony! Im just concerned because my noise went away before i could replicate it to a dealer but im afraid the damage is done.

Mine did that too it comes and goes. Hard to hear on the video but it's like an aluminum tapping sound.

Mine has about 40,000 on it. I drive alot what can i say? Whipples on the way though so no turning back now. I suppose i could have my motor built, but i dont really have that kind of cash just laying around, especially after ordering the whipple
