However, anyone who wants a Mustang with any other engine / tranny package is still a part of the Mustang family. they still chose to purchase a Mustang instead of another make/model so they are still A-ok in my book.
:amen: It all comes down to personal preference just like exhausts, stripes and CAI kits. From what I've seen since 2005 there isn't much discernible difference in those things, only what the owner of the car likes as far as looks or sound. Who cares what anyone else thinks - it's your car, your money do what you want.

Same here man. I'm bored with my TTI6. Noise is huge to me. I caught the Mustang fever after driving my friend's '01 Bullitt. It wasn't as fast as my car, and the 2V 4.6 wasn't exactly the greatest thing in the world as far as paper stats were concerned, but lawd it sounded brilliant. I knew I wanted a V8 ever since that drive.
I caught the Mustang fever after spending 5 hours surrounded by hundreds, if not, thousands of V8s and V6s and I6s, Machs and Boss's of all kinds!

And even though I went to that show in a turbo-4(but still a Ford), I was still welcomed with open arms and people were kind enough to teach me a lot about Mustangs and the history; it was by far the greatest car show I'd ever been to.

So I understand the desire for a V8, I'd love to have a V8 over any of the other options, it's just whether or not I can afford it.

Everything I do(work, home and school) is within 5 miles of one another, and I already have to use premium gas, so that is of no issue. And the bigger tank also helps some as well; and if I need more fuel efficiency, I've got a 944 for that.

The only problem(that I've addressed in another one of my threads) is that I'm going to have to make a "stupid" financial mistake and trade in my 2014 Focus ST and come up with a reasonable down payment to get the payments down to the same or as close to what I'm paying monthly on the ST, so around $300-350. It's a stupid idea, but at this point, this is a more emotional decision rather than a rational and logical one; that's what got me into an ST and I regret that. It's also the 50th anniversary, and that only comes once in a lifetime.

If I were to get a GT, I'd be happy with a bone stock base GT with nothing on it except the spoiler delete. It'd have to be a used or CPO one though, but I suppose that's not bad. I'm talking myself into one already.

But if the V6 gets a good aftermarket...(Which we already know won't happen. :( )

And that makes me sad and is the SINGLE thing that has me going back and forth with the V6; because it seems what Ford is doing, is trying to up-sell V6 people towards the EB and if they don't want the EB, then the GT it is...:tsk:

But I know that CAFE has a lot to do with it as well doesn't it. I guess then logically with what I've said, the GT is better then? :(
Write to Rachael with Fordservice on here. She'll take your feedback on the V6 and wanting premium/pp features on it.

The only way Ford is going hear from us about the V6 is if we make our voices heard.

A V6 owner, perfect!! Perhaps you can help me! :)

Please tell me, how is it? Is it a high-revving car, does it like the higher rpms? How are the 3.55 gears? I haven't a clue how the gearing options work(3.31 vs 3.55 ect)? Is the clutch too light, does it feel? Also, someone told me that the new cars were very prone to understeer, can you confirm?

I haven't got one yet, but I'd love to have one by next year. And once I have one, I'd love to be able to mod it some to get a little more juice out of it.
Still scratching my head to this entire thread??????????

Why so many questions, is there not a dealer in the area to test drive a mustang?

Feedback on this thread is about getting what YOU want, yet you are asking what other people think? We cant tell you because it's OUR opinion so go out and decide for YOURSELF!

And no, I'm not a V8 or nothing guy. I'm a realist and believe in getting what you want within your means and makes you happy because bottom line that's all that really matters when its YOUR car.

People like to get input from other people, a la, this entire forum. The fact remains...it's a high revving engine. 3.55 gears are going to get you higher into the RPM range more quickly, which IMO is a good idea for this engine. You'll be running a little higher RPM at cruising speed (also good with this engine IMO), and you'll run out of gear a little bit quicker during redline acceleration runs, but those are the only real downsides. Can't comment on the clutch as I've not driven a manual 2015 yet, but I can only imagine they are fairly light on the V6. As for the understeer, yes there is some definite understeer, but it's not the end of the world.

The V6 Mustang sounded pretty sweet to me for the week I drove one. Again like the performance character, it sounds kind of like a mini V8.

the last convertible I owned had a bhp under 100 and took 12.8s to reach 60mph.

the '15 V8 was out for me, partly cost and mostly far more power than I wanted.

I've been bouncing back and forth between the EB and V6 .
at first I was focussed on the EB engine, the turbo performance and fact that no matter what
was done to the V6 it'd never be as fast as the EB. and interesting that no tunes/mods are
being offered for the V6 on the forum.

so far as the sound of the cars is concerned, it's an abstract until, neighbors start complaining
and the choice is quieten the car or move, and/or collecting tickets from friendly cops.
recall an older Cobra pulling up alongside at a light and the sound was agreeable.
pulling away the Cobra at a 1/4 then a 1/2 mile ahead no longer sounded like a car but a hog,
diappointingly unpleasant.

this past spring I said to myself 'get a convertible'. looked at MGBs, the under 100bhp car.
then discovered Pourshay Boxsters, great looking front end, but at my budget '01s had a
significant design fault that could result in a blown engine and massive repair bill.
Mustang, New Edge, air scoops, muscle, but not a GT.
I never really got onto Miatas, thought them just too small. and the other used two seaters
while having some eye candy appeal were too expensive.

kept looking for that just right New Edge while reading forums and learning about how much
modding was going on just to bring the handling in line, and then there was the fixed axle.
read a couple of threads where people had installed the Cobra IRS, 'that's for me'.

decided to change my budget, why bother building a car when the '15s are a New chassis built
to handle a New IRS, New front suspension, New soft top, and New turbocharged engine, plus
the reliable tried and tested 3.7L 300bhp V6 engine.

retired, my use of the car is for cruising, dd, trips both short and long, excursions, socializing,
extending my photography/art hobby, and the pleasure the car affords me in owning and driving it
but
bottom line for me, is the C$9K difference in price for the EB vs V6 convertible worth it ?

Only looks like $5K difference by my math...are you talking Canadian dollars?

We who are living in Canada always talking in CAD when we break our brains what to buy. :D

But again. The OP is looking to get a Mustang with a good sound (?) in his budget.

Nobody knows your budget and like others wrote already, get the car YOU like. Not what we like. I am personally wondering how the ROUSH catback will sound for the EB because the parts number is the same for the EB and V6. And the video for the V6 sounds really good to me.

Maybe like that?

the ST sounding like that is fine for me personally....but to hear that sound on a mustang is just weird though.

Given that his location is "Canada" and he said "C$9K", I'd venture to say so. ;)
Thanks smarta$$. ;) :headbonk:I didn't realize our money was worth almost twice as much as yours! Or is the EB just a bigger markup there for some reason? Last I knew the US and CD dollars were pretty close...

The thing is the EB Mustang still doesn't sound like that even with cat back exhausts, at least from what I've heard so far. Maybe something to do with the length of the pipes, the fact that they are split (unnecessarily), I don't know. But for whatever reason the sound is just more hollow and empty on the Mustang, even with the larger engine.

Hopefully someone will figure this out. I'd get a new lower bumper fascia if there was a decent looking center or one-sided exhaust out there.
