Why bother with an unknown? Just go with the proven Uniden R3, R7, or the new R8? I wouldn't drive ten feet without one! But I have no idea if they work on the sane frequencies in the UK....

The big question would be why?

Knowing there is an emergency vehicle in the area (pretty common in a city) tells you nothing useful.

Turns out the UK is turning off this system so the detectors are no longer useful.
