I suspect that the speed limiter may have been part of ACC which we're not getting but despite being sat in the car in Edinburgh this is another thing I didn't notice.
Got blindsided by the sheer awesomeness of the car
Not sure about that, the S60 I had was normal cruise & the limiter function, captur has the same. The V40 demonstrator I'm driving at the minute has ACC & limiter but I don't think the 2 are mutual. Pretty sure my old Mazda 6 had a limiter with normal cruise too.

Yep, I hope I'm wrong on that. Would be useful.

What would also be good is an alarm that bleeps when you hit a set speed, it's easy to speed in a capable car without reslising

Mondeo has limiter with normal cruise. The button is in with the cruise buttons on the steering wheel. Mustang steering wheel doesn't appear to have it. I thought it would be more useful but in reality I hardly ever use it. Cruise is really responsive and controllable and much more useful.

One of the things we drivers of powerful cars need to be very aware of is "3rd party perception"

This is always on my mind whenever I drive a fast, loud car that stands out from the crowd..

Get involved in an accident, and it's your fault because you're driving a fast car...

Overtake a couple of cars completely safely, go around a curve in the road, and a little old lady pulls out of a junction straight into your path......not your fault at all.
Police arrive, what do you think those cars you passed earlier are going to say if asked??

You really don't need one, unless you're blind and can't spot the neon coloured van or gatso camera - in which case you shouldn't be operating a motor vehicle. They're pretty noticeable. ;)

Just stick to the speed limit in areas signposted for 30 and 40mph. That's where almost all speed traps are located. Everywhere else? Go nuts, but just keep on the look out for a speed van.

They are called Radar Detector Shop but I can't find any of their products that actually detect RADAR waves. They do have a laser detector device which I might be interested in.

Most of their products are GPS database based for speed camera locations.

If you have an Android phone (maybe iPhone too) then you can use TomTom Speed Cameras which is now a free app and so far has alerted me to all cameras that I am aware of. A really good feature is that it has an always on top mode which shows your speed even when you are using other apps like Google Maps.
