Beyond piece of mind what is the purpose of an ethanol sensor? Can tuners make the tune adjust on its own based on ethanol?

With PCMtec, yes
So what do you hook the sensor up to for it to communicate to the car that it needs to adjust for the ethanol content? Is this used more on turbo cars than supercharged cars since it's not as easy to change your boost ?

The Zeitronix ECA-2 CAN is what you need to integrate the ethanol sensor to the CAN bus so the PCMTEC Custom OS flex fuel logic can work properly. Then you need a tuner who can enable that logic so it adjusts for ethanol content.

If you’re looking for a kit, I’m only familiar with one or two on the market. You can put your own system together that will work with the PCMTEC Custom OS based on the info available on the forums and from your tuner of choice.

Anyone looking to make their own converter to keep prices down simply needs to emulate the Zeitronix CAN packet structure and it will be plug and play. No one has done it at scale as the volume is too low, however it is absolutely doable.
