Hi All,

Today I went to a car wash and shut the engine off. As I was standing there spraying it off, I noticed the turn signal lamps, park lights and taillights cycled on and off a couple times. Also saw the center display power up and turn off by itself. When I started it up, the display was dark for a moment then came on. All of this is quite strange. The car is brand new with 300 miles on it. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks.

I noticed the same thing a week or so ago. I thought it might be me moving around the car with the fob in my pocket.

Was your key in your pocket or in the car? Mine does weird stuff like that as I walk around the outside if my key is in my pocket.

If the key fob is in your pocket while you're spraying the car off, sometimes it can trigger the sensors in the door handles I've found.

I usually put my keys a good few feet away somewhere so it doesn't happen. Nothing to be concerned about though

Happens all the time during a car wash. You are triggering the keyless entry on the door handles with either the water or while you are washing with a mitt etc. Totally normal :like:

Yes it was in my pocket. Makes perfect sense though, Thanks.

The keyless entry sensors on the door handles are surprisingly sensitive. I take my fob out of my pocket and put it back in the house while I wash my car. Just spraying the car down sets it off. I guess you could always turn the keyless entry off while at a car wash if it really annoys you. Just remember to turn it back on if you like that feature
