Did you not see the part in my all my posts where I said I'm waiting for a call back from FORD about it? I don't care what Roush says I want to know what FORD says.Roush is not FORD.............. Here we go again about Roush says it won't void warranty. Again I ask show something from FORD that says so
Roush specifically states on their website for the CAI's that they will not void the factory warranty. I'm waiting to hear back from a customer service rep I've been dealing with at Ford to see if this is true. I will not use it if it's not a 100% guarantee and it will have to be documented on my service order with the dealership.
I specifically just said I was waiting to hear back from someone at FORD about Roush's claim.
To make this crystal clear! I will not be doing any modifications that will void my factory warranty! If Ford tells me the Roush CAI by itself is safe and I can get that in writing then I'll have one installed. If they tell me they cannot do that then I'll be using the stock airbox until my warranty expires.
Mattrix I believe what you are saying is that you will not MOD your car until your warranty has expired from Ford. After your warranty runs out, would you them MOD your car? Then tell me whats the difference, you blow up your MOD motor under warranty and you pay, or you MOD your car after warranty and you still have to pay. Isn't this the exact same thing if your going to play then you have to be prepared to pay whether it's under Ford warranty of not.To make this crystal clear! I honestly can't say what I'll do to the car 5 years from now. It's not part of my 5 year plan lol. When the warranty expires the car will be paid off and then I can decide what I want to do with it if anything. I can promise you this, 5 years from now this motor isn't going to cost anywhere near what it cost me this time. So no it's not the exact same thing.Mattrix I believe what you are saying is that you will not MOD your car until your warranty has expired from Ford. I did read it thank you. But then you posted Roush warranty statement then went on about waiting for Ford. To me it was contradicting was my thought at first sorry and just few in here think if it's roush you still ok. Yes you will have to wait and see what Ford sayDid you not see the part in my all my posts where I said I'm waiting for a call back from FORD about it? Yes that's true but it shortens warranty period to 3 yr 36k milesIf u use ford racing parts and have dealer install and then register the part and install you will not void warrinty.. Its in writing. This was a agreement between ford and ford racing, you just need to make sure that your ford racing part is eligible, not all parts are.
Plus FRRP's parts are still SO conservative and need high cost dealer install it's not even worth it.Yes that's true but it shortens warranty period to 3 yr 36k miles
You'd be surprised how many are justified, especially if they offer health insurance. Payroll, insurance, workers comp, etc can easily be $50-80+ depending on the payroll rate. Labor isn't where people make their money usually, it's parts markup.Shop rates are usually over $100/hr these days, and is pure robbery. Don't really know how shop rates got to be so high ... I guess they know not many can work on the newer cars these days so they bend the customer over hard.
Except for the example I mentioned. $200-225 average I've seen people pay for the FRRP CAI and Pro-Cal tune is highway robbery. You'd be surprised how many are justified, especially if they offer health insurance. Sure ok. I own a business I know how costs and overhead work just fine.75.00? do you think they would achieve their margins with only a charge of 75.00? Assuming that would cover direct costs I doubt it would make a dent in overhead and leave nothing for profit. Someone correct me have these companies switched to a not for profit model? Lol Im sorry man but I get a kick out of other dictating what a company should charge...cant afford it, go shop elsewhere, the market will take care of the business. Don't think the value is there, same thing shop elsewhere.
Warranty is built into the price with a forecast of warranty expenses and the less they can warranty the more that can go to profit, what you have with the companies like Roush is really not an extra charge for a warranty but a discount for not having them assume any responsibility depending how you want to look at it.
The only reason places offer those $29.99 oil changes is to get people in the door and convince them to pay for other services, or to create customer loyalty so that when you need major repairs you'll go to the same dealership you go to for your oil changes.Sure ok. I own a business I know how costs and overhead work just fine.
Then how about that $29.99 "The Works" (or any oil change really under $80) oil change that takes nearly the same amount of time which also has to factor in part (oil and filter) costs?
Overhead is a BS argument to bolt on a FRRP CAI and load the tune through the OBDII port.. $75 for 30 min of work is still MORE than fair and turns a profit. Their 1 tech costs avg $20 per hour; and this is a 30 min job. $10 in labor, no part/shop costs. Plenty of profit there; more profit than an oil change, or even 2.
And if they did one per month I'd be shocked it's that high; even if it's not hyper profitable. It's called a fair price service; taking care of a customer who bought a car from you.
