The Roush CAI is 100% Ford warranty safe if installed at a Roush authorized Ford dealership. Roush works with Ford on those types of modifications when designing and testing them. You'll even see some cars new on dealer lots with them installed already. The main reason for me to get a CAI is the sound. If I get a few extra ponies great but I want to be able to hear the turbo and the blow off valve, the stock box restricts it so much. I like to enjoy my drive and sounds is one of the best senses to give you pleasure while driving.I wouldn't even waste the money on this CAI or any CAI. The gains they are claiming are just out right ludicrous! Talk to real experienced performace junkies and they laugh at CAI's to add noticeable power. Again, the new guy around here but I spent like a week researching them and concluded they are truly snake oil for performance (actually can degrade performance a lil) without more dynamic parts and a tune to make use of the better air flow its not a good choice... Your not stupid enough to get a tune at this point. :frusty: and you know Ford if they decide can void your warranty even with the Roush turd, so why risk it?! Buy some nice 20's and call it a day until there more information.
NO such thing! HaahaI've looked at all the aftermarket options for blocks and it's just not worth it. I cannot afford to have more issues that will come out of pocket like this. From now on I'll only use mods that 100% will not void a factory warranty.
Well in that case "to each is own" and I can't debate it. :cheers:The Roush CAI is 100% Ford warranty safe if installed at a Roush authorized Ford dealership. My dealer that's also a Roush dealer too. THIS is what I got from them doesn't matter if it's Roush CAI or even if they installed it. Some people just will NEVER learn no matter how much money they dump or times people here say it. NO mod is 100% safe. Not Roush. Not Ford Racing. They're all AFTERMARKET parts. Roush/FRRP will warranty their part if it itself fails, not the car or if the mod causes the failure in the car.NO such thing! Haaha
Yaa, window tints, carpet cleaner, sound design (maybe). Maybe cat back is ok but if something blows, they can get an expert to say its the exhaust probably.
Fck man, even larger wheels change the geometry points of the suspension and can lead to added stress and "Void the warranty"
For now on, here is what you say to yourself. "Is this MOD worth a month of my time and $8,000.00" Say that out loud before every purchase and I can guarantee you it will help you make the right decision.
I'd say just a resonator delete X or H pipe is 100% safe. Any dealer trying to argue that removing the resonator caused a rod to go through the side of the block, or blew up the clutch shouldn't be in the business.NO mod is 100% safe.
Roush specifically states on their website for the CAI's that they will not void the factory warranty. I'm waiting to hear back from a customer service rep I've been dealing with at Ford to see if this is true. I will not use it if it's not a 100% guarantee and it will have to be documented on my service order with the dealership. Some people just will NEVER learn no matter how much money they dump or times people here say it. Anything you put on the car is aftermarket unless replacing an OEM part with the same OEM Ford part.
Tinting really isnt a "mod" that affects any function of the car at all. Wheels are extremely tough to say voids a warranty since the OEM offering are 18-20" now as long as you stay in those sizes.

On a side note Roush now is offering power packs for the 15-16s and you can buy a 3yr/36k mile limited powertrain warranty. Last night I read through the warranty and it's not bad but the overall cost is not worth it IMO. It would cost $764.99 for a CAI and tune. Then $495 for the warranty.

Again, no. Roush warranties its own part and that's all. You still have someone that is not Ford telling you it won't void Ford's warranty. Just like other mods that clearly did void the warranty even when they said they wouldn't. A CAI without a tune may be much less likely to void a warranty but that does not mean Ford cannot do it. Roush isn't Ford and doesn't speak for Ford.
And the superchargers are different, you are buying a 3rd party warranty from Roush
http://www.roushperformance.com/pdf/2015-Optional-Limited-Powertrain-Warranty-Upgrade-4-9-15.pdf
This is a REPLACEMENT warranty as the factory one is void, meaning Roush is now warranting the items listed at the bottom of the first page up to those amounts.
There is no $495 3rd party warranty for a CAI/tune.
The above holds exactly the same for Ford Racing parts as well.
Yes apparently powerpacks for 4 bangers you can buy a warranty after checking. Same as the supercharger. Dont own an Eco so never bothered looking at parts for it and it's at the bottom of the long pdf.I specifically just said I was waiting to hear back from someone at FORD about Roush's claim.
As to the warranty for the power packs please look at the specific section that talks about the 2.3L power pack. I'm not talking about Super Charger warranty, please read it.
That is why I said I don't think it's worth it. Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone that does want to risk it. There are tons of guys doing some very aggressive modifications. Then you have guys not willing to do anything at all. It's nice to be able to come to a forum like this to see what others are doing and what is available so you can make your own decisions.Yes apparently powerpacks for 4 bangers you can buy a warranty after checking. Point still stands, they cover the listed items up to $7,500. Another blowout and that's $1,300 out of pocket above warranty again.
Why even bother risking it at this point.
