Only jerk I felt was when brake wasn't fully pressed in. That's the only time I felt that. Also if you're on an incline use the parking brake. That can cause a jerk going into gear.

I have an EcoBoost non performance and when I switch from D-R or R-D or from any to Park the car is really shaking up and down with the audible noise of switching from outside. I think it's a specific with the auto trany because I had the same on my BMW.
But if it is an issue I would like to solve it.
Advices?

So I literally just spoke with a Ford service advisor, Him and I jump in my car and showed him the "jerky" feeling you get in putting it in gear, and right away without hesitating he says "it's perfectly normal on this transmission" he also said that they(ford dealership) contacted a ford engineer a while about about this "issue" which the engineer replied back it being normal.

I guess we just have to live with it, just wait an extra second till the transmission, engages a gear.

Do you have other Ford dealerships near you? If so i would bring the car and have another Ford dealership take a look at it. Maybe jump in a car on the lot and see if it does the same thing if they say it's "normal".

I work Valet on the Las Vegas strip, and we get a lot of 2015 mustang ecoboost rental, and all of them do it, but I noticed it's more noticeable on PP.

Unlike other automatics I've driven, I too notice the 2015 requires a near dead stop before shifting between R and D, because I have a bad habit of not stopping completely before shifting growing up.

I agree. If that's the case I have an "abnormal" car.

Alright guys, sitting at the dealer with my Auto PP EcoBoost...same issues as the first 2 posts in here. Mainly the shift from anything into Drive is what's causing the rough almost grinding sound. Definitely did not feel normal and it's something that didn't exist when I first bought it. Has 4k miles now. I hope they don't just tell me its normal....

No herky jerky

I have the auto with PP and i am not experiencing any of these issues. It works perfectly and shifts smooth as butter in any gear. OP i would get your car checked out at the dealer.

So, it would seem it is not isolated to PP Ecos.
Again, now at 650 miles- NO issues like that at all.

(And, I have owned many '60s Mustangs with C4 and C6 trannys as well as 1970s and this is not an issue with those trannies either. On old cars there can be delays if the fluid is low...or in need of an overhaul- and it is actually slipping a bit... )

BTW- Guys there are a few folk over to the EcoBoost Forum who are really in distress over the heat recall because a reported "reliable older service manager at the local Ford dealership told this gent NOT to drive his car EVER on a highway, and that "They have 2 new Ecos that they can not sell until they are fixed !"

I told the presumably younger new owner to call FORD, and repeat the Manager's name and dealership and tell FORD he is DOCUMENTING their response !

If you can't drive a new car, then the company should replace it, or provide a loaner, if it can not be immediately (within reason ) made operable IMO.

BUT- I doubt the manager's personal perspective is accurate.

I have asked the gent for the dealer's info because I have called Ford about the assertion, and there is no such speak at Ford.. of course.

Letters were to go out on July 6 according to Ford when I called last week.

AGAIN, WE ARE ONLY SPEAKING OF IMPROVING THE HEAT RESISTANCE OF THE UNDERBODY- NOT EXPLODING JAPANESE AIRBAGS, OR LOCKING
GM IGNITION SWITCHES; OR FAULTY MASTER BRAKE CYLINDERS LIKE I HAD ON A VW....

I have a manual transmission no issues here sounds like an automatic transmission issue, or your granny shifting or riding the cluth.

When i drove mine last weekend i paid attention to the issues here with the automatics on this thread and i didn't experience anything like the OP. I was in my parking garage which is really quiet and it would not make any noises, clunking, or banging etc. I even went from drive to reverse and reverse to drive and it wasn't fully stopped and it never made any noises or banging.

Hopefully the people experiencing this get their cars fixed from Ford.

There is definitely something up with these automatic transmissions. Mine worked flawlessly for 1200 miles. I had no warning, issues, noises nothing. No abuse, just always ran it in sport plus mode. Never drove it in normal mode. I parallel parked one day came out later to go to work and I had no reverse, shifted into reverse but it never engaged. Shift to drive and it would take about 20 seconds to engage. Car is currently waiting on some back ordered valve with no eta. I think tech said I have no reverse third and fourth gear. Hoping to hear back from ford rep on when maybe part will be available. Be careful I had no warning when mine went.
