The seats are actually air conditioned, as a dealer tech, I've had to replace a few heating/cooling units in F-150 seats. They use a TEC or thermo electric cooling plate, the technology has been used in high power PC cooling for a while now.

Essentially there's a metal plate with two leads and when you pass electricity through it heat is transferred, making one side hot and the other cold. Then switching roles when the polarity is reversed, allowing one unit to heat or cool. Air is then pushed by a small blower over the plate and through the perforations in the seats

My beer fridge uses the same tech... Very Quiet with no compressor. don't have to hear the noisy compressor from a typical cooling unit so I keep it near the big screen for game days and movie nights. Works really well so I am looking forward to these seats!

Oh, No, I Appreciate it. I Love to Learn about New Technology. After all you're never too old to learn.
It's actually not new tech... been around since when I was a computer tech in 1999

It's even older than that. I have a CCD camera from 1987 with a PEC cooler attached. I used it for years doing amateur astronomy. Finally upgraded to a newer SBIG camera.

Where does the heat go that this effect generates? I would assume it is transferred to a heat sink that sits on the floor under your seat. Heat sink transfers heat to the floor of the vehicle which I assume if cooled off as you drive with air passing over it. In other words it probably works best if you are moving and not sitting still in traffic???
