I keep seeing people say that, but is there any proof other than the anecdotal dyno sheets? The only video I've been able to find shows a tuned Ecoboost getting obliterated from a roll by two 2015 GTs; though, the Ecoboost does beat one GT from a dig. Whether that's because the car is just that much more capable than the GT he raced is subject to interpretation because of a myriad of factors such as the drivers' respective capabilities, road conditions, etc. All-in-all, though, the little Ecoboost Mustang is a very capable car, and I'm impressed.

Equal drivers from a dig with any variation of the GT vs tuned eb(like in that video), the eb never sees anything other than taillights and it gets bad as speed builds. With a crappy driver any outcome is possible. Tunes give the eb a nice shot of torque but not much vitamin HP.

I have easily taken 2 gt pp cars off the line with a tune and auto trans already. Trim levels add a lot of weight. The video linked is a premium heavier trim ecoboost like the ops though. I got a 4.1second 0-60 on the track app yesterday. Poor TSX got destroyed by almost 10 car lengths. The auto puts down consistent 5.1 second 0-60 times with traction control on. Even on cold tires and tarmac. My mom's 370z premium auto didn't stand a chance on the public roads. But I have springs also so it's not a fair comparison. I accidentally discovered a little trick to launching the auto. I can easily get mid 4's now.

thats one of the things i dislike about modded/tuned turbo 4s. the torque is great, but it runs out of breath where you feel it most on the street, up top.

especially when you have 4 people in the car, it feels like your car is a dog.

this is coming from my wrx with 349/370 to the wheel.

With the right tune you'd beat all the above. Stock for stock roll races might be yours best bet . But then again it would come down to a drivers race

I knew that was coming lol. I will take one next time I'm out at the private road. Evidence of anything illegal will never be posted online by me. Bring any manual GT that's stock and I will prove it. Base auto eb pp with a good tune will take a GT manual no problem on the street from a dig. Your fastest shifting might get you even.

Tuned EBs have run anywhere from a 12.1 with some weight reduction (Livernois), 12.6 with a splash of race gas (JLP), 12.7 (I think) with tune and a tire (Livernois), 12.8 with a tune and a tire (Mike w/ Unleashed tune), and 12.xx with whatever WMS ran, and there car is the only manual in the group. With the cars mentioned, a tuned EB will run with any of them if driver mod is also installed.

I ran a completely stock 370Z from a 60ish and 50ish roll. I have a base model with a tune and 3.15 gears. We were dead even. Will be going to the track later this month. Hopefully I'll have my DP and Intake when we go though. Heres me running a full bolt on, tuned Fiesta ST. Also should be running a full bolt on tuned 3V and full bolt on tuned 14' V6 Stang. Will have videos soon.

Cool video. I've ran a FBO GST and kept a half-car length on him (completely stock). If the weather ever give us a break, we're gonna do it again now that I'm Cobb tuned.

I want to try it a few more time to make sure. It might have something to do with cobbs auto trans tune also.

Start in normal drive with traction control on. Light brake boost to just start to build boost. Launch, wait to 3500rpm, shift to sport +.

It seems to change gears out of first extra smooth that way. Keeps traction control from killing your momentum going into second. No wheel spin and no negative interference from the traction control.

I must also mention it's warm and sunny here this week

Sweet! Thanks for the info. I'm gonna try it the next time I get my car out. Although, sadly enough, it might be another week or two. :( I just had to shovel 14" of snow off my driveway earlier.
