Friendly run from the line. Punished him outta the hole but he eventually reeled me in. Normal right? Who else ran these?

^ this. yeah because challenger is around 4,400 ibs, it's heavy. But since you got a turbo 4 banger, it doesn't have as strong redline as a V8. Hence the reeling in.

Tune FTW
Went back to the stock tune for a lil bit, just to see. She felt like a slug, it was awful. Will be using the stock tune for winter though. :(

I haven't really encountered any RT's, not really worried about it thou. I did see a challenger towing a boat two days ago, so that was interesting.

It does not weigh 4400 lbs

I had a 13' RT with track pack. They weigh about 4100 lbs. Heavy, but have much low end torque. It was a mid 13 second car stock. I think it would be a drivers race between it and an Turbo Stang. The difference is the feel of the car. It has some grunt. The ECO does not. The A8 RT will certainly beat a stock Turbo Stang as it shifts very fast. Your race was "backwards" if anything. Those cars launch hard. They just run out of steam. Your car can reel it in on a long race.

Id say it's normal. Tune the 4 banger and get a rematch.

Sounds about right for stock vs stock. Those RTs were around 4100lbs and had 425 hp and about equal torque. They run mid 5 sec 0-60. The hemi helps it steadily pull at high speeds. Obviously you'd easily out run it on a road course though.

No that's an old 6.1 SRT8, not an R/T.

Yeah, a 2009 R/T is 370-ish HP....

The M6 RT's could launch pretty good...

They have 410 foot pounds of torque and 376 HP. Dodge tends to underrate (RT's typically have 400 crank HP). I had one before I bought my SRT 392. These 5.7's are no slouches, but they are not designed to be racers. They have very good torque that you can actually feel.

I drove my first Turbo Stang recently. Great car. Sporty, and good potential if you MOD, but NO torque that I could feel. Most 5.7 RT owners buy them for 2 reasons:

1. They want a cruiser with V8 that has good low end grunt, rides nice, and looks good.

2. They are serious modders and intend mod beyond the capability of a 392. The 5.7 can accept higher boost 8 psi (vs 6 psi of a 392) without needing forged pistons. A drag racer can get 525 RWHP with a bolt on blower. If they intend to go for more power.... they already plan on forging pistons, beefing up the differential, comp cams, getting carbon fiber drive shafts, stroking, etc. The 5.7 with Trac Pac is the model that serious modders buy. Why spend more on a motor you will rip open, and Brembo brakes if you are a drag racer?

In any case, comparing the cars is silly. One is a Muscle Car/Grand Turismo cruiser. The other has evolved into a sporty car.

Yes you are correct. Not sure why I posted that. Brain fart, since I do own a 2013 R/T that has 370 hp lol.
