MY2019 not 5 days old and 100 miles and the auto seat function works intermittently. Seat always goes back on shut off, but only sometimes works when I start the car. 1st time starting it works drive a few miles shut off car, restart and seat stays in the Exit position. I've even had it move into preset position only to find if I pushed memory no.1 that the seat moved up another 2" to where I have it preset. I've tried reprogramming each key as per manual and still only works intermittently.
I saw another post mentioning this issue but no solutions???

Seems it only works 1st time I start the car. After that it only works when I auto start the car from key fob or phone app.

Try standing outside the car and reach through the window and work the buttons. See if it works without weight on the seat.

Always does easy exit and entry for me, but sometimes does not go to preset 1 when starting car sometimes, so I gotta push preset 1 once in a while, but I often like to preset before pushing start a times because Im in better driver position to reach brake and button. I am ok with it, I could turn off the system but my preset is kinda hard to enter and exit from, I drive in a raised position.

Be sure you’re always taking the same key fob with you, if it’s tied to any ā€œMy Keyā€ programming.

Only time that happened to me was when the battery was low.

My wife's 2018 F-150 works the same way -- if the locks have been activated before starting the truck, the auto seat position functions. If the locks are not operated (like when getting back in the truck after filling up at a gas station), then I have to manually press my settings button.

I'm expecting the 2019 GT we will be picking up next week to operate the same.

I find it will always work if you use remote start.

Just a question: is everyone giving the start button a quick tap without holding it down to first wake the car up—which moves the seat to #1 position, turns on the radio, etc—then pushing it a second time to start? I’ve noticed that if I just hold the button down, the seat stops advancing when the car starts and I have to push the #1 button to get it to move into position.

Used this way, it works for me every time.

I recently bought a 2018 Mustang that originally came with manual Recaros, and I’m currently doing an electric base swap. I ordered electric seat bases through eBay, sold as non-memory units. After wiring everything up and testing the bases, I noticed that the driver seat moves all the way back when shutting the car off, but it does not move forward again afterwards.

I checked the settings in the cluster but couldn’t find any option related to easy entry/exit. That might make sense since the car originally had manual Recaros and the main connector wasn’t even pre-wired for electric seats.

So now I’m wondering:
  • Is this simply a function that needs to be enabled/disabled in Forscan?
  • Or do I actually need the memory seat modules (door module, etc.) for this to work properly, even when i want to turn off the featere at all?

What makes it confusing is that the seat otherwise functions normally like a non-memory power seat. I’ve read that memory bases normally won’t function at all without the proper wiring, unless someone has modified the wiring harness, which I’m fairly certain hasn’t been done.

Any insights would be appreciated!
