E85 rough start up?

Hey guys,

I just got a VMP tune for E85 and the car runs great. However, I been noticing that every now and then the car almost seems like it’s going to turn off when I press the push button…it never shuts off, but it’s never done that before. Is this normal with E85?

Straight E85 does not enjoy temps 45 and lower. Found that out a couple years ago.

Well, I shouldn’t really worry about that since I’m in Florida and it’s garage kept. I was wondering maybe the humidity had something to do with it or maybe my local gas station is lying about it being really E85 and it’s more like E75 lol.

The E85R tune should handle E70 and above. At least that's what I have read. When it gets below that you should be running the flex tune.

You'll notice it still have issues in a garage in FL as well, especially if it has been sitting a bit. It use to take me 3-4 cranks before it would finally turn over lol.

I tuned my own car and have zero problems with cold start. If you purchase a f150 and fill it with e85 it will start right up the same as it would with gas. You should not have any problems with startup
