just wanted to get opinions. For a car with full bolt ons and a tune which would be the better next step? which is more reliable and safer for stock block?

Really it depends on what you have available. For me I have 2 e85 pumps both 20-30 min's away from my house. I did mixing for a while but eventually I switched to meth, and never looked back. A lot of people get addicted to the extra power e85 gives (my self included), but seeing as my pump selection is limited and they tend to run out of e85 option I made the switch to meth. Either way your car is going to pick up power. Using an aux fueling setup with e85 is the ultimate setup for any direct injection car wanting max power though.

E85 will give you the biggest gains. Methanol is great to assist in cooler charge temps and add some octane to your fuel. However E85 has so much knock preventing properties that high charge air temps aren't a huge deal. Technically with the E85 conversion you still get charge air temp reduction because you are injecting PRE-cylinder head but because it is POST TMAP sensor you aren't going to see the reduction in a log.

I have made 400whp on stock block and stock turbo with E85 and full bolt-on's. Methanol about 370whp max.

With methanol injection and big turbo you are going to net around 420whp until you start getting distribution problems from the poorly designed intake manifold. However with E85 you will never reach the power levels that my kit will max out at. My kit can flow up to 1000whp, again more than anyone will ever make that isn't a shop car.
